Don't forget your challenge log either, or your SCH job quests. As someone said, eat food. There's even some directly gathered that'll give the 3% bonus. And at 42 you'll have even more options in beastmen daily quests.

If you're like me and you like to let the MSQ introduce you to new zones and get the full experience, I would advise you to stay away from Coerthas for now and instead go to Costa del Sol and grind fates there until you are 36. This along with your 3 hunting logs (class, job and company), your job quests (don't forget those!) and the duty finder should easily get you to 36 so you can continue enjoying the MSQ.
As a note, when you go back to Drybone to continue the MSQ you'll have to do Iliud's sidequest first, then he'll have the MSQ for you.
You are doing the daily duty roulette, right? Big bonus for the roulette first time each day. Just doing dungeons isn't much after the first time; it's the daily roulette that pulls down the big numbers. Also, are you doing your Hunting Log? That's a big source of XP.Hi guys! I've been leveling a summoner (lvl 35) and what I absolutely loathe is having to wait between main story quests. I've finished all MSQ for level 35 and I'm still halfway through to 36
Any advice how to pass the time? I've been doing dungeons and fates but the XP gain seems slow. Also, where can I find fates for 35?
Thanks
Frankly, I'm rather amazed. I do alts for fun and the main thing for me has been handing side quest completions off to a crafting class or something or else I'm like level 26 by the time I reach Ifrit.
It's far easier to over-level the MSQ during those early levels than it is later, though. I've been in my mid to late 20's by the time I reached the level 20 quests on all the alts (four of them) that I've played that far, but once you get up into the late 30s and 40s leveling is significantly slower and it takes either a few Roulettes or a significant amount of FATEs, sidequests, Leves, and other content to keep up.
I think this is a compromise between players who want to just do the main scenario, hitting the required dungeons once each, and players who want to repeat each dungeon over and over to get all its loot drops. The former group will have to make a bit of extra effort leveling (at least once they get up into later levels) whereas the later group is still in danger of over-leveling their quests even late in the game.
Also do not forget Hunt Log, this helps as well
The the following maps might be helpful for zone level and locations:

Also from the FF on line from a while back:
Levels 1-12: Horizon’s Edge (Located in Western Thanalan)
Levels 13-20: Aleport (Located in Western La Noscea)
Levels 21-30: Quarrymill (Located in the Silent Arbor area of South Shroud)
Levels 28-34: Wineport (Located in the Raincatcher Gully area of Eastern La Noscea)
Levels 30-38: Dragonhead (Located in the Central Highlands area of Coerthas)
Levels 38-42: Camp Revenant’s Toll (Located in the Fogfens area of Mor Dhona)
Levels 42-50: Ceruleum Processing Plant (Located in the Bluefog area of Northern Thanalan)
NOTE: Also keep in mind that these areas have Levemete NPCs within them that will offer you levequests to complete for even more XP if you want. FATEs are faster but picking up a quest here and there can help it not feel as much like grinding.
