Farming Amber-encased Vilekin.

Howdy Everyone,

First off i would like to thank Nalien of Cerberus for his amazing advice!

[A Simple Guide to Farming Amber-encased Vilekin]

Notes:
- Amber can drop from Blue chests when doing heavensward Leves and Temple leves.
- the chest can spawn in any leve, its just a matter of finding it.
- Amber is 100% from Blue chests
- So far, ive only seen 1 amber drop per chest.

Now as for what leve you do is all up to you. Nalien Did "Don't Come Back", i did Dance, Magic Dance.

This leve has a very small radius and by standing on the empty house plot at (X 25.7, Y17.7) you can see most of the places that a blue chest can spawn

The 4 spawn points i found are:
26.7, 17.8 - [East Chest] Open area east of the starting point, the chest can be seen from there
26.8, 18.7 - [South East Chest] Near the Lamp post, this one can be seen from the starting point.
26.8, 19.8 - [South Chest] open area south of the South East Chest. cant be seen from the starting point (the sparkles can be seen)
27.7, 17.4 - [Far East Chest] open area east of the East Chest location. cant be seen from the starting point.

Also if there isnt a goblin in one of the 2 outer areas, it seems the chest doesnt spawn there either. but i could be wrong.

I had a very easy time of this...

I just picked up Don't Come Back and repeated that (as Lv60) over and over... Starting it, looked for a chest, then abandoning it if there wasn't one/after opening it, hitting retry and repeating that over and over.

Burned through a lot of Levequests (99 dropped to 70 something IIRC, though I did start out going through 9 or so normally before I figured out this method), but 15 Amber took less than 30 minutes to obtain... Kind of a joke, really...

A shame really, because I like Levequests... I started out excited to be doing them again, but the moment it became apparent just how unrewarding they are with Amber, I gave up... Wouldn't be so bad if we weren't stuck going between Ishgard and whatever zone for each and every proper repeat I guess, but Amber is still pretty rare and annoying to get properly... I actually think the whole Amber concept is fairly solid, they just need to polish it up a bit... If they could make it more rewarding, I'd love to see more stuff added to the list of items we can buy with it...

I've only ever seen 5x drop in the large scale leves. If you're farming for amber the large scale ones are the way to go.

I started following this the other day too. I am at either 112 or 118 leves and have 14 amber.

Finally got 15 with about 10 leves left. Happy to blow them all to get that done though. You'll have your 15th soon!

The spawn locations for this leve are:
1. Under the target
2. Near the first two mobs
3. On the hill with the archaernois
4. In the wolves

I burned through about 70 leves for the 15 amber
