If you don't collect glamour then the armory chest is big enough for the gears of all classes (max. 1 set each class)I would love to have more space in the armoire too! I only have my healers at 60 and its already giving me space issues, it's one of the reason I don't want to level other classes/jobs. In a game where you can do everything on one character but have barely space at all, it is kinda lame imo.
The inventory they have worked great... before they added glamour, decided to make anima crystals from farming and many other quest / turn in items normal inventory items, encouraged hording of seasonal fireworks and other items which should disappear after the even is done, and a number of other niggling issues the team didn't really think of when they expanded the game.
It's not that we need a bigger armory space or even a bigger Armoire, it's that the developers are not utilizing the right locations for the right items. If an item is soulbound and has a designated NPC as a turn in vendor, that isn't a general item: that is a quest item. Midan / Gordian items are quest items just like Anima crystals, Allagan tomes (with a notable exception being the craft ones from 2nd coil), and beastman tokens. They could even just have beastman currency in the currency tab, really, but instead we got turn in items.
Then we have the seasonal items that "are not armoire material" for some reason. Also multiple levels of potions that lose any real reason for existing such as Antidotes, spinal drops, etc, which really SHOULD be usable on all boss fights including end game ones, multiple culinary foods that have little actual value except as a minor exp boost, and all sorts of weirdness.
