Unpossible! I have been informed that there is no toxicity in this game by people on these very same forums!

well imo the forum community is worse than in-game.
but your example happens now and then, not very frequently though; it's apparent with *watching cutscene* and tome bonus - if i see that, i give some advice on bosses.

    @OP
You pretty much hit the nail on the head .
This community is self defeating, sometimes so much that SE has to tweek/change things to stifle/attempt to fix things.
Yet then the community likes to complain about when SE responds/tries to fix things about it.

    1.
Folks seem to dislike when new players don't know anything even on the launch day of new content.
    As folks have already stated:
"Guides are out in mere hours after a patch."

    Solution:
Now...I personally think SE should just attach an official walkthrough to every Dungeon, Trial, & Raid.
While selecting/unlocking the dungeon/trial for the very first time in the DF, the game should replace the Queue button with a button that forced you to watch the official walkthrough. Once watched in entirety the game will allow you to queue.
After that a new button will appear after Map on the dungeon/Trial/Raid description that allows you to watch the ingame official walkthrough.

But..then this community would complain that SE has taken all the surprise out of content, & that it's holding the hands of "bads" by teaching them before they run the content, and now the game have been dumbed down even more.

    2.
Once the NPC companion/group system comes out so players can run dungeons & Trials without other players this'll no longer be an issue atleast.
Atleast then players can experience the content freshly, at their own pace (no need to treat dungeons as a constant speed run/mass pull everything, maybe even *gasp* read the lore inside the dungeons), and not have to worry about endangering, hindering, and/or holding up others.
It would not eliminate all the "bads", but it would cut out a noticeable large chunk of them.

But then...the community would complain that this is an MMORPG and as a result folks should be forced to socialize, communicate, and etc with other players.
Despite the fact it likes to constantly remind itself how much it hates players not knowing any mechanics, learning for the 1st time, not being perfect in rotation/dodging/etc, and how it resents communicating with itself because of ___.

I cannot wait for the NPC groupmates, I believe it's supposed to be GC recruits or something to come out.

Yeah, some folks will treat the game as a Single player rpg, and some folks will just focus on the NPC as their groupmates.
But honestly the MSQ IS honestly pretty much already a Single player RPG as our groupmates are barely mentioned if ever.
And for players who want to experience dungeons in a more casual manner such as reading Lore notes/watching cutscenes, not mass pulling the whole dungeon, skipping stuff, and rushing to the end; this will be a god send.

But folks will riot about it. But now adays MMOS are going more and more this way.

I personally wish they' d just give us Solo versions of all Dungeons, & Trials (Ala ESO) that award us half of what the group version awards.
Then folks could "learn" the content and or farm/grind it and not anger other players in the process.
Those who want a group experience and/or better rewards (just like Raiding) could run the group version.
Those who want to avoid the drama/problems of groups, take their sweet time, or don't mind having to run a dungeon atleast twice to equal a "group" run now have the option.

And folks would hate this as they'll say:
"This is an MMO. Solo versions shouldn't exist of anything. Be social."

So basically the community can,be summed up in the statement of:

"I don't want to have others in my party who don't play the game exactly how I want to play it; as I don't want to teach/explain/carry them. But I also don't want them to be able to avoid ruining my experience, let alone have an option to do the content without communicating with me, so I can belittle/berate them and make them feel bad & explain why my way is the only way."

Video guides often aren't that helpful, back in ARR for example a ls helped me and couple of others clear t9 went in totally blind, took us about 2 hours to get the clear. I picked things up quite quick. after that though going back into these turns to help other ppl in the shell get clears was a piece of cake pretty much.

one day there was a t9 farm in party finder, having cleared it 3-4 times and become familier with it and knew what i was doing i joined this group with another guy from my ls, no soldiery bonus when the group started so everyone had gotten clears, but then procedded to wipe 3 times and people started raging and throwing blame around and group disbanded.

the cause was that the way in which my ls tought me to run the group was muchly similar to a mtq video on youtube which i hadn't seen at that point. 3-4 of the group were used to a mrhappy way of doing things, and the other 2 from some other guide i cant remember who's off hand.

so what happens is you have ppl standing dead centre when golems drop expecting golems to be dropped at the very edges only to find they drop in the circles and now the dead centre is a death trap cos you'll get nailed by the splash damage from all 3 golems.

then you get people standing at there points when someone drops a golem at the edge and it ends up to close to the one in the circle they merge / wipe. and then you have people who are running full circle round the outside of the arena making it near impossible for the healers to catch them.. had similar things with groups for lots of content.

as for new people in content, i will offer advise / basic tips if they ask, but if no one says anything it's got to a point where i sometimes wont bothertrying to explain anything cos they don't want to listen, even the simple things like ak hard, get targeted hide behind statue, then the newb is like why didn't you heal me? when they stand there and die. didn't listen....

mentors aren't much cop either currently, i went to a first time piece of content yesterday 3 newbies 4 mentors, 2 of us asked for any basics, and none of the mentors was any help, just charged in, we riped they raged... "yeah great mentoring guys"

if the new player to the duty ask beforehand , 90% of the time he usually gets a little brief about the encounter...now if the new player doesnt ask at all and remaint silent , sometimes ppl explain sometimes dont bother.

we cant really know if the new player has watched a video / read a guide and dont even need explanation...some even want to go blind alone and discover the mechanics....

all the options are valid if u ask me...but at least speak , nothing worse remaining silent and wiping the party ....

so if a newbie ask and doesnt get and answer and then the party wipe, U CANT blame it on the new player.... u can even use it as defense if the party points at u.

I don't mind that people haven't watched videos. its week one. But for those who are so intent on being completely ignorant because that is "fun" for you. It is not fun for everyone else to let 3-4 people kill the raid several times while learning something we could have explained at the start. Simple crap like tank switches. In the past 24 hours ive had 3 groups dissolve before the pull because some primadonna off-tanks want to be completely blind and they leave as soon as I tell them something as simple as

" Tank swap on perpetual ray, Tank Add at A, Tank add at B, split damage for double rocket punch"

Simply saying that right there would save 3 maybe 4 wipes for the whole group. These people hide behind the guise of learning as their fun, but really I think they just like killing people.

Had a great co tank during sep normal. Got so worked up over it i talked myself out of it several times and decided to do trials roulette only to see his ugly ass standing there after the black screen went away. said some choice words in chat and the other tank was like "guess i am MT" and took 5 minutes to explain the mechanics and predicted 2 wipes before clear and yup two wipes because of two bits of strat she forgot too and we were through. There should be more people like her out there. That't the type of tank and player i strive to be

How I see the new abilities:
Asylum - Get ready for my holy spam because that's the only healing you gonna get.
Aero III - I guess I should put some dots up before holy spamming.
Assize - I need more MP to spam holy even more, also stop getting hit in the face.
Tetragrammaton - I guess I should heal that tank now.
Stone III - There's less than 3 mobs left alive. - Ragns Meuhie

Its the "Cross Servers" / Duty Finder....when players can done content that (for the most part) will never see those other players again you get those ASS-HATs. FFXI never had cross servers or a duty finder players that needed to get content done helped each other out. Players character funny enough had a reputation and if any player was a ASS-HAT word got around quick and those players had a very hard time get groups to get stuff done because other players knew who they were. All I'm saying is if SE did away with the duty finder and merged servers to fill them up and had players play together to get stuff done and have the players character reputation mean something again the community would be so much better....but hey what do I know right? LOL

If there is a new dungeon, my fc members tend to run it together first, but when you go into the roulette, you have to expect that not everyone knows the fights, but sometimes simple instructions are the easiest.
Last night I got Antitower with a newbie, he said he was new, asked for help, so we explained fights, and it generally went well, except that we had the laziest blm in the history of the game with us. Even with me using foes, my DPS was much higher, etc, all the while the newbie was working hard trying to keep ago and do mechanics, etc.
The Blm locked himself out of the final fight, so it was just 3 of us...but we beat it without him and the newbie did a great job.
He said he was new, asked for tips, they were given, it was the experienced player that sucked and dragged it down for everyone else.
So you can't judge a book by its cover, and the newbie can be better than the experienced player, but if you don't treat them nice, then you lose something IMO

Is it really just me? or has anyone else got any crackers where after playing seven thousand hours straight, someone doesnt have the time to type "just focus down X enemy".
I can't recall it ever happening in this game BUT, #1, I'm not at the end-game yet, where I'm sure it gets pretty grindy, and #2, unlike WoW this game hasn't been around for 12 years, with grand-scale burnout firmly entrenched. There's still at least a faint smell of a new car in this game. So I guess, just bad luck on your part?
