Player

This a hundred times! But every time I see the title of this thread I can't help but think... What 'community' isn't like that?I'm not really worried about new players. I'm worried about "veterans" that still can't play their job and get by because they've been getting carried since 2.0.
The new guy still has potential to learn, the veteran feels like he knows everything and refuses to accept advice.

Patch 3.2 ... 3 days in, Sephi Ex "progress/training" fight on PF.
It quickly turned so bad, that at some point, all I could do was laugh about the excess exchange of insults, that was happening at some point.
No real explanation of planned tactics etc by the "leaders" of that party. First pull, Tank messes up, get's called bad by so called leaders, and many other really rude things, because his positioning didn't fit with their tactic. (Needless to say, said tank knew the fight well into after add phase)
Again, no one really bothered to explain what was actually going wrong (or bothered with explaining their strategy)
2nd pull, Tank makes the mistake of not heading where they want him to go (again, no explanations before that).
First person screams to replace the tank because he sucks and whatnot.
On the next try, one of the DPS screws up, the two "leaders" turn into poo-flinging, screeching monkeys and start insulting the poor guy, which luckily had a quick tongue and started defending himself against those two harpies.
The other members of the party tried to calm down the situation, by pointing out, that the fight was released 3 days ago etc ... but needless to say, the Tank and the DPS got kicked.
On the other hand, I was really flabbergasted about how rude some of those guys are/can be. Considering it was a "progress/training" party and not a established farming group.
And this is, why I normally only run things with friends / the FC ...
Although, day one, Sephi normal + Alex Midas 1-4. Such a nice experience, working on strategies etc. even with DF groups. No one gave up, everyone did stick together, no yelling, no whining. Everyone just focussing and concentrating on getting things done <3

This is why I always stop to explain if there is some strat that is dire and requires a lot, and I've seen the new player message. If I am the new player, I tell them so. Luckily I haven't come across any fools like you did. I swear, sometimes people are blind and stupid and completely oblivious and rude... For no goddamn reason.
With all this crown smack talk. A solution like player commendation should be mentor rating/ranking.
While this could be abused, in time it would bring mentors into what they're meant to be. With golden records you keep the crown or it upgrades to a new icon. While bad ratings could suspend mentor usage for a set time and maybe dull the icon. At least then players know what type of person they're getting on board with. And a shiny new icon would make a target for people to achieve. And hopefully make people nicer.
With the slogan "can't play, we'll take it away"

talks about neckbeards but his character is a neckbeard :^)
Hail Nanamo. Glory to Lalafell kind.
There's a difference between a "neckbeard" and a regular beard (hint: one is well groomed while the other is a mess than looks like hair from one's nether regions), but at this point neckbeard is more of a personality than anything else.

I refer to them as cheeto-stained, basement-dwelling neckbeards.

Sorry you've run into this issue. I've had issues with a few players, but overall I meet some really great people...
If you keep having issues, feel free to come to my server and we'll get you setup and rolling with some good nice people.
Trolls will be trolls, and hopefully they are few and far between.
