Is there a reason a lot of tanks are still trying to tank in dps stance and causing consistent wipes? I'm afraid to go into antitower because this keeps happening. I see this a lot on PLD/WAR tanks losing hate so easily and struggling to get it back even after switching to tank stance.

Is this still happening? Before i go on, were you paired with tanks that were in dps when pulling and didnt turn it on, or were they just that bad with hate? Cause thats impossible with the buffed enmity.

Your tanks were very bad/dump/undergeared/mingeared. The only time i had nearly lost aggro were two dragoons with raidopener on different targets. It shouldn't be possible for a at least somewhat decent tank to lose aggro.

A tank can tank in dps stance, but only the real good tanks.

Any tank that loses aggro consistently without being severely undergeared is a bad tank.

Job #1 is to hold aggro as a tank.

If they can do that job in DPS stance, cool. If they can't, or refuse to actually use Tank stance, they're being bad.

Because just about every guide out there for 3.0-3.15 promotes using tank stance (i.e. Deliverance, Shield Oath, Grit) as a cooldown that's only necessary for periods of heavy damage, and during that time, tanks could largely get away with it (my FC healers would often vent in /fc about how much they hated it, but that's a different story). Now that they've nerfed tank damage in general (and thus, enmity generation outside of tank stance), tanks who learned how to operate this way are encountering a culture shock, and are likely refusing to stay in their tank stances because of the mountains of rhetoric arguing against it.

That, and they probably didn't read and interpret the patch notes.

My guess would be people coming back for the new patch after "taking a break" and having no clue about the changes to tanks and trying to do things the same as before, or they could just be the type of people that need Velcro on their shoes instead of laces.

I think how much enmity we lost with our DPS came as a shock. We need tank stance to generate meaningful amounts of enmity, and brute forcing our way to the top of the hate list isn't going to cut it any more. Not saying you didn't have a couple bads, but this is an adjustment for all of us.

You can still stance dance it's just your threat has to be established more rather than just do a 1-2-3 combo and forget about it. Once tanks get more gear it'll be easier and easier to dps out of stance till then we just have to wait and see, it'll also come down to what tanks meld what and what's BiS with melds etc.

It just mahes me uneasy to cue for antitower. I have seen this a lot in alex midas as well. Not bashing tanks or anything. Tanks pulling in dps stance or tanks pulling in tank stance, doing enmity combo once and the switch to dps stance. This is not enough. Other than that, I do want to say thank you too all tanks for at least playing the job. I know its a thankless job :-)
