Help please! A Spectacle for the Ages

I'm having major trouble getting pass the first part of this quest :/ and it's getting to be super frustrating.

Any Bards finish this quest? I can't do it :/ Almost always less than a minute into the fight, I've lost 10 tactical rating, then it just builds up, are there specific targets I am suppose to kill first in some order? my team seem to die super quick, the whole first part of the quest feels like it's out of my control :/

Any advise/tips? this is really frustrating. Or is my Bard just screwed for this quest forever :/ Should I not have Wanderer's Minuet? is my attack just too low as a Bard for this quest :/ I'm i196

I did the main story on my Bard.
For the most part I focused on enemies with the tether that makes them worth more points.
There was a part where the enemies were focusing on Lucia so I tried to protect her but I don't think it really helped much.

I did this fight as a MCH, so our situation is similar.
NPCs respawn after they are defeated, so you don't need to worry about them, they'll be back.
Just focus on killing the enemy that is tethered and maybe AoE a few of the other enemies too, for more points.

I done the fight as a WHM, but the strategy I used is similar to what was posted; focus on enemies that are tethered for more points and keep an eye on your allies that have tethers on them so they don't get knocked out.

Thanks everyone! OK I manage to pass the first part no problem now :>

now... the second part :/ Any tips with my bard.. I've tried with Wanderer's Minuet as best I can to cut his health down, but still can't do enough when he does his final charge, I've also tried without Wanderer's Minuet and kite him around, that didn't do it either :P

Is there something I'm missing?

I'm i198 now, or am I still too low to beat him?

Totally missed those swords! thanks for the hint! I guess I never expected a solo story quest to include some boss fight mechanics :x

All done now, got my emotes.. not too thrilled with Bard animations, but I do like my Machinist version

Yeah, I had a lot of difficulties with this quest too. Until I called in a very old favor to finish the quest for me. Look:

This is the dumbest quest I've ever seen. Completely ridiculous that this is necessary to continue the story. I'm really regretting spending money on this game.
