I don't know, I felt like if anything was being foreshadowed and hinted at, it was more that Aymeric will come to some horrible end before long. The Sultana was drawing parallels between Aymeric and herself, and I was getting vibes of Aymeric not having long left well before that. It could be that the WoL later regrets not having that drink with Aymeric when we had the chance.

Eh, the banquet isn't all that tragic in hindsight. Lots of 'fake' deaths and barely any real deaths. Given that the WoL was set to head to Ishgard anyway I have to wonder if the developers backed down on stuff like Nanamo dying for the sake of fan appeasement.

Considering they went into so much detail for the opening FMV, it's kind of surprising how neatly it all got wrapped up. Unless Heartstrike really is involved in the whole thing, and there's actually a lot more that happened behind the scenes that will become relevant before 4.0. How much did we know about Dewlala before 3.0?

You have to separate the "knowledge player - character" . As player of course we undertood this perfect "fake deads", but how as our character itself?
On that point of view wee thought that everyone died or dissapear, even know that he/she knows that almos everyone is okay, its still was a very hard punch to assimilate.

Or the fact that the WOL saw someone who they thought died from a poisoned drink, later finding out it was a deep sleep, and then having their own drink being laced with a sleeping agent by a random stranger. Would anyone blame them being overly cautious now when someone offers a drink?

I don't think Aymeric is hiding anything. We may or may not have to fight him because he's about do something stupid.
