    I love the idea
Certainly they'll have to implement some limitations, like..after filling up the summoning gauge the free company has only 2 days to summon it or "the power will fade" and some other free company can get it and start filling up THEIR summoning gauge.
Obviously it shouldn't be possible to use the power of a Primal God against himself or another one like Garuda..or if it works, it should only deal a little bit of damage, not the "complete wipe" dmg it does to other monsters and players.

Maybe sometimes I'd be pissed of at people who use this function, but really, it makes the game just that much more exciting

    This is different from XI.

Summoners get access to "lesser" summons not considered Gods (like Carbuncle).

Free Companies (larger linkshells) can prove their worth to a Primal and then call it to help them when necessary. You can't probably do this alone since Primals are so strong.

To the former, I'd guess so? Can't be sure yet. To second question ,I think you can use it whenever but after you do, you need to wait 2 weeks to use it again.

Wow... This opens up a few interesting PvP options.

Let's say that a Free Company is able to align itself with one of the Primals(Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Leviathan, etc.). Now let's say that 2 Free Companies are going at it with all their might, but one side is being decimated. The summoners of one company(or "captains" assuming there'd be ranks and no dependency on certain jobs) would then be able to summon the company Primal, however in order to summon the Primal, you have to create a summoning circle with other members of the same rank and "chant" for a certain amount of time(say 2 minutes) before the Primal has a chance to set down and unleash hell on the other Company. During this chanting however, the summoners are totally vulnerable, so it's up to the other company members to protect them from the opponents' team.

"Oh sh*t, we're about to bite it!"

"Get ready to summon Ifrit!" *begins chanting*

*alarm for other team goes off*

Other team: "Guys they're summoning a Primal! Look for the circle and take them out"

Your team: "Back up the summoners! Don't let them through!"

    *2 minutes later*

    Ifrit: ROAR!

Also hurray for Yoshi-P going with lesser avatars for the Summoner job! I wanna see Hydra or Bismark!

Yeah, until Ifrit turns on you because you couldn't even defeat a nightmare hare. XD

Hooray for more complaining about mechanics that aren't in the game yet!

I actually think it sounds like an awesome idea, but whether it turns out awesome (in reality) or not depends on the implementation.

Once upon a time, in the realm of Dynamis - Mor Dhana....

*Free company gets defeated by nightmare hares*
*Free company realizes they can summon Ifrit*
    *Ifrit gets summoned*

Ifrit: Er., wait a moment, you want me to kill these nightmare hares?
Company Leader: Yes... they keep killing us.
    *Ifrit gets flamed up*
Ifrit: A HARE is killing you? Are you kidding me?
    *entire company cowers in fear*
    CL: ...um, yes sir...
Ifrit: And YOU, you expect me to waste my time on a bunch of hares!?
    CL: They're not just any...
    *Ifrit spouts flames everywhere*
    Ifrit: QUIET! I'm leaving.
    *entire company gets burned*
Nightmare hare gains 1,337 experience points.
    Nightmare hare reaches level 99.

Variables such as cooldowns, damage output, and drop-rate for keys can all be adjusted easily AFTER it is implemented. I would suggest letting them implement it first before complaining about easily adjustable things such as the above (unless you're against them implementing it at all, in which case go ahead and complain).
