Eh, I meant that they were attainable even before airships started returning a lot of them. SB i46-i55 gear that you make cheaply. Convert it to Materia. Sell off whatever Materia you don't want to use.

Any reason to SB i46-i55 and not i100 gear which is converting to TIV @ 70-80%?

Depends on what you are QS'ing to SB it. I was thinking along the lines of cobalt ingots, that you can then use for a triple Leve hand in for some cash, rather than just dumping them on a NPC vendor.
I also remember hearing that higher level stuff, early-mid HW stuff, converting into t2/t3, not t3/t4 like i45-i55 would.

I second Roth
Doing i46 to i55 stuff (in urth gift)
You're going to have a ton fo T3 materia and a good share of T4 (and you want to have control 3 as much as control 4)
When i150 stuff can give you a T2 craftmanship...
Definitely i50 stuff
3 min spiritbond...

You can always make lv50-55 nuggets/leathers/lumber and sell it on MB, did a ton of that and mats alone sold more than basic ingredients used to make them + i got ton of IV materia.Depends on what you are QS'ing to SB it. I100 isn't i150, in 20-30 sets i SBonded i never got any T2, mostly IVs and some IIIs

And where do you spirit bond i100 stuff ?
With battle class or crafting a tons of mâts ?

You have to do 2 star crafting to achieve 3 star status?
Who would have thought? >.>
No really, not trying to be rude, but isn't that obvious progression?

What did you do with all of your class quest materia?
So the gearing progression from when you hit 60 fresh on your first specialist, assuming little to no Gil to spend on the MB, goes Blue Scrip Gear => 180 Red Scrip Gear => (over)Melded 170HQ 2* Craft Gear?
Feels kind of contrived and backwards, especially when 170HQ are specialist-only recipes, and so force people to pick specific classes to be specialist to make the gear for the others (LTW, WVR, and GSM seem to have a pretty unfair advantage in this arena, since unless I'm mistaken, they make most of the Specialist gear). Only way to make this progression make sense would be to swap iLevels of Red Scrip gear, forbid overmelding of 170HQ gear, or make it so each class could craft their own 2* specialist gear.
