Can we get Tataru back as an opponent in Triple Triad?

Now that things have settled down a bit, she just spends all her time hanging around House Fortemps and I know she is itching to play some more Triple Triad with the Warrior of Light.

Adding to that, as I'd rather not make another thread.

Can we please get an acknowledgement about the current state of Triple Triad tournaments?

It has been a year since Triple Triad was added to the game, in that time, the tournements have been a complete mess where the only effective way to play is to cheat the system (and due to the large MGP award, people don't stop once they get their tournament cards)

We've had platinum packs added, which at least make the cards obtainable, but starting with 3.0, the amount of packs you can get has gone down a couple times where right now, during some tournaments, you are lucky if you can qualify for 1 Platinum pack.

We had Tataru available to provide a grindy way to get the Lightning and Firion cards, but so far there hasn't been a way to get Cecil or Tidus, as well as horrendously low random rates on Warrior of Light and Zidane, I've personally spent over 600k on Gold packs and received a WoL ~450k in.


We've been told that change is coming, but it would be months after Heavensward came out. We've now had 2 major patches and a handful of smaller ones and there is no end in sight.


Can we please get an acknowledgment that this is still being looked into? Even better, can we get a plan or an expected patch date?

Bring back TT playing Tataru. I agree that she was at least a way to get those damned cards. I was lucky to get Lightning before they removed her. Firion was just not dropping for me and would like another crack at her.

I'll echo the 'Please provide an NPC path' to the cards that those above have echoed.

Because there are so many desirable things to buy with MGP the tourney will always be gamed by folks that are looking to get the mounts and so forth. The coin prize makes the gaming worth doing. No one is doing it for the cards.

So Sit a new NPC or two next to Lewena and let us battle them for the cards, let Taru play us again for her two.

I understand why the drop rate on the gold packs is tight. It's a method to drain off MGP from people who prioritize cards over other things. After you get Cloud and the Cactuar for 1.2million there are few other things card related to spend on.

But yes, lets get NPC options for the tourney cards. Let the people who are chasing the MPG chase it. Us card folks can take a new path.

I've been all over the forums on this topic, I'm sure I'm annoying someone, but it's driving me crazy...please, please fix the tourneys. I agree with OP, I just don't understand why this hasn't happened yet...I refuse to exploit it, even if it's so wide open and easy to do so. The LoVM side of things I blame more on players not taking the time to improve their skill/play the game, but still, why is it so obviously open to cheating?...<sigh>...

As for the Lightning card, yeah, we need Tataru back...unless they plan on fixing the tourneys. Bah, I'm becoming jaded...dang it! Hate when this happens...but in this case, it's warranted!

I agree I am one from 50, and I feel cheated because some people go to beat her, I didn't get the chance to.

i always just win against the super easy NPC right next to the tournament board and always get my 2 packs
unless i loose like 50% of the matches, i still dont know how i could have been so bad that once a while back but i only got one pack then

but i have to second the request for getting tataru back!
