In my opinion, SSS does nothing to show if you will actually beat said boss, or even if you'll make an enrage. So it blowing up isn't necessary, watching it fade away with whatever percentage it had left should be enough.

It's just you, burning a dummy down, that's it. No mechanics, no adds, no AoEs, no falling off platforms. I agree it can be used to hone your rotation, but any indication that you will pass or fail said instance is just not there. All this is, is a better version of the training dummy you may have at your home or FC house...

It's a good indicator of telling you that you have the skill to clear a fight DPS wise, obviously it doesn't tell you if you'll be able to perform the mechanics, but it's far better than going in completely blind. It'll definitely tell you if you'll be able to pass the enrage unless you panic performing mechanics and mess up your rotation (which I'll admit, I do have a problem with the first few times practice runs of a mechanic).

I imagine it would be incredibly useful for console players too, as they can now figure out their DPS (and it's more accurate than ACT with its guesswork done with DoT damage).
