Could someone explain to me what kind of new graphic engine that they will carry out? I mean they will ditch Crystal Tools or what?

Just about to make a thread about this. I thought it would take years of work to rebuild this game on a new engine. I don't think you can simply just port the graphics from one engine to another? I dunno about this lol.
yea, dont have any slight idea about graphical programming lol

Is it weird that I find it interesting that the release for FFXIV 2.0 is extremely close to the predicted release of Windows 8?
Yea it sounds like luminous which is using DX11 I think, so we can expect some extra graphic option for high end PC's, you think this game looks good now, well I bet its guna look ridiculous when 2.0 hits.
We should have things like graphical options and settings in the actually game engine as well, finally SE are moving with the times.
Alt-tab lol, real time shadowing, dynamic lighting, I really can't wait for 2.0.
It depends how they made the game engine, they could have made it in a way that porting assets from Crystal Tools would be an easy process.Just about to make a thread about this. If thats the case I wouldn't be surprised to see FFXII-Versus switch to the same engine.
