hello! with it being new patch week and many of you doubtless running into the new alex, i thought i would share my explanation macros to help speed up the process of helping players new to the midas series get up to speed so to speak.
these macros are majorly copy/pastes from the Wiki if you see an error please let me know
if you have additions to make as well or something you think could be reworded to make it better understandable let me know and i will update the macros!
Alexander midas; Fist of the son
/p Tank the boss in the corner to make it easier to avoid the very large AOE from bombs. <wait.5>
/p Adds will spawn in the corners of the room; they need to be tanked. <wait.5>
/p If you get a red-orange marker over your head, run away from the party. This will drop a large puddle. <wait.5>
/p The tower in the center of the room has a purple circle around it. Standing near the circle brings up two puddles on the sides of the room: <wait.5>
/p Red puddle will turn you into a gorilla, giving you a skill to knock bombs far away from the party before they explode. <wait.5>
/p (More bombs will spawn each time he summons them. First one, then two, then three.) <wait.5>
/p The violet puddle will turn you into a bird. When the boss is extra large and uses "Boost," become a bird or you'll likely die to his mulitple groundpound attacks <wait.5>
/p Skill #1 allows you to do a little damage, skill #2 will turn you back into yourself. <wait.5>
Alexander midas; Cuff of the son
boss 1 blaster
/p The first boss drops mines which can and should be avoided (tank may have to move the boss depending on the placement) <wait.5>
/p Players will then be marked and have copies of Blaster fall on them. <wait.5>
/p ~ Spread out to avoid overlapping damage. ~ Try to spread out in a line to make it easier to deal with <wait.5>
/p The copies will charge in the direction they are facing after a short delay <wait.5>
/p ~ If tagged, you will take damage and receive a vulnerability debuff <wait.5>
boss 2 Brawler
/p Tank should face the boss away while everyone else stacks right behind it. <wait.5>
/p Brawler has three different attacks. Look at the hands to figure out which is coming. <wait.5>
/p 1) Single drill
/p 2) Single laser
/p 3) Double laser
/p ~The drill seems to randomly target <wait.5>
/p If there's a single laser, the tank can soak this by themselves (they may have to pop a cd if their gear isn't up to snuff).<wait.5>
/p If it's a double laser, the tank should join the group and split the damage (lots of AOE heals).<wait.5>
/p Single drill seems to do less damage the further u are way from it (spread out).
boss 3 Swindler
/p There is a debuff placed on everyone based on an altitude (high or low). <wait.2>
/p The floor panels will raise and lower to deal with this mechanic. <wait.5>
/p Go to the elevation opposite of the debuff received. (If you get the high debuff (purple), go to the lower panels. If you get the low debuff (red), go to the higher panels.
/p You can also tell which debuff the size of the rings around you after the initiation) <wait.5>
/p Choosing the wrong elevation will cause you to take substantial damage and receive a vulnerability debuff <wait.5>
/p There will be unavoidable AOE damage afterwards <wait.5>
/p The number of orbs above the targeted person indicates the number of people who need to be in the ring to split the damage in order to nullify it.
boss 4 Vortexer
/p A player will be marked with a blue indicator around them <Wait.5>
/p Lava pools will spawn <wait.5>
/p Vortexer will use a knockback <wait.5>
/p The marked player will summon a water spout where they are standing <wait.5>
/p Players will then deal with the Shiva ice rings <wait.5>
/p one player needs to use these rings to freeze the water. <wait.5>
/p Vortexer will use a knockback <wait.5>
/p Everyone will need to hide behind the newly created ice boulder to avoid being wiped to Vortexer's Ultra Flash <wait.5>
Alexander midas; Arm of the son
/p At intervals, the boss will place a target on one player and send them to a cage in one of the four corners of the room. If more players are hit by this attack, they will also
/p be sent to the cage. <wait.5>
/p When one person is sent to the red cage, they must stand still and not use abilities while others break the padlock and free them. <wait.5>
/p When one person is sent to the purple cage, they must fight an Alarum and kill it. <wait.5>
/p When one person is sent to the third cage, they must fight a Gobwalker add and kill it. <wait.5>
/p When one person is sent to the green cage, they must stand on the spout of gas. <wait.5><wait.5>
/p Kill the Panzers and Sturm that spawn when one person is sent to a cage. <wait.5>
/p Kill the hearts that spawn when the cat (not targetable) is present. <wait.5>
/p Avoid the rolling "Weight of the World" boulders. <wait.5>
/p If you have a purple target, move away from others; the boss will cleave in your direction and apply a debuff. <wait.5>
/p Drag bombs to the far corners of the room. <wait.5>
/p additional things to note;
/p tank must make sure the boss is tanked away from the cat when it spawns at all times to give the dps ample time to kill the hearts
/p when adds spawn after someone is sent to jail if there is a sturm it needs to be stunned asap
