I have been doing my atma books as a way to pass time and get a more complete set of weapon glamours. Recently I did Surprise, which turned out to be a horrendous pain in the behind. You have to guard 2 NPCs from 3 waves of kobolds, and these NPCs go down pretty quick if not guarded properly. After 3 attempts, I finally managed to solo it by grabbing all the aggro on each wave of kobolds, dragging them off to one side, then unsyncing and recovering when my HP drops too low.

It is my opinion that while this FATE is doable when there's many people in the zone doing it, with the lack of people doing FATEs in this zone, perhaps it's time to buff the NPCs so that they down keel over in seconds if left unattended. That way, people looking to complete their 2.0 relics won't have to worry about finding friends to help them pass this hurdle.
