Ability to invite someone while engaged

Well, I find this very annoying, not just when people don't disengage so you can invite but if your linkshell claimed an NM and there are latecomers coming in to help, you really can't invite em until you wipe. This will promote some socialization also by helping people who are struggling on something to join them on the fly.

    Hmmmm

    /agreed

I'm not sure if SE gave us a tangible reason as to why you are unable to do this. But there are a lot of things you can't do while in battle mode.

Really, I dont mind that as much as not being able to LEAVE party while the party is engaged. There shouldn't be a reason for that

I think that's the main reason for this. Because of how claim work, you can't just have one guy claim (I heard they used bot to claim in FFXI?) the NM and then bring in the whole partyfrom wherever they are afterward . That's also why NM will enrage in 30 min or de-spawn if you engage and then disengage after an unsuccessful fight. The main point is that you don't steal and/or abuse NM fight. I think once they make instanced dungeon and tweak how claim work, this will get addressed.

b4 the mana was an issue where people had to worry way more bout there mana, this probably prevented people from force logging out to get out of party mana and then just rejoin, u can't even heal outside of party on nm's. but again this was b4, now u can just unsheath and get mana right back.

though u'r thoughs on how bots can claim or people can just hold mobs till people come is a very good thought, i'd rather see no invites while in battle in this case. it makes it so ls's are there or they not, no inbetween. but it is very anoying for regular stuff like grinding mobs and stuff, maybe stuff u can't out of party heal = no invites but simple stuff like leves or grinding we can.

    And what about DC?

I can remember an Uraeus fight when ALL the DD in party DCed, there were only the tanker and healers left >.> this is something that should be addressed.

I know why they did it. To prevent holding on NMs and other mobs.

This is what my linkshell did 1 day in FFXI.

Had a 8 person team fighting Nidhogg.
Had a holding group claim King behemoth
Had 4 people holding Tiamat with a mule used to pull adds.
And had 2 people holding Sandworm..

So basically my linshell was holding/fighting 4 hnms at once.

In FFXIV the claiming system prevents that. Basically I see it as a step to prevent large endgame shell from monopolizing the NMS and such.

I agree with OP it's irritating and also not being able to log out while someone in pt is fighting is stupid too.

So allowing party invite during fight can help this game to have more strategy in battle. rotate members is one good strategy which involve both team work, and PvE feeling.
    This is good thing!
