Still gil spam? Try this SE

I don't get why there is still gil spam. Simple solutions

    1. remove black list limit ... this is absurd.
    2. when players are deleted automatically clear them from your black list.
    3. set up a system that if someone::
-sends a pm or friend request and are black listed it starts a count
-once you receive 10 black lists as a response to you sending pms/fr (so its not abused by just blacklisting random people with 10 accounts) your account cant send tells/fr ... possibly also cant use SAY and shout etc ... until your investigation is completed.
    4. if you send a shout or something like that 20 black list count for the same thing.
    5. If you are muted you can only chat in Party chat, FC chat, or to your friends list. This would mean that if a legit player somehow got muted they could still play the game with no issues.

This will QUICKLY get people to start doing the devs work for them ... people will use black list again and after 10 or 20 black list adds gil spammers will be muted until someone can review and see if it was for gil spam.

Or simply add a new function when you right click someones name it would say report for gil spam, you click are you sure (yes). It automatically blacklists them and once they get 10 15 or 20 reports in response to a tell, or say, or whatever. They are muted ... they can send a request to be unmuted then you dont even have to review the mute logs unless requested and most gil spammers wont waste their time obviously.
Spread the word, lets get this taken care of.

Summary ... currently SE has to have a crew to sort through thousands of gil spam reports on every server. This function would allow players to do that work for them 'x' amounts of black lists or reports in 'x' time as a result of PM or Shout spam would mute you. You could the request and un mute (so we are now talking about a few emails for SE to check vs thousands) gil spammers wont request this only legit players who somehow got caught caught will. And this would mostly be avoided, but there are always issues ofc.

I have a better, simpler solution... they could actually read and take action when someone fills out an RMT report. I've done this numerous times, gotten the same automated response "we are looking into it, please use the blacklist feature, blah blah blah". An hour later the same person is still spamming RMT.

well yes but that requires work on their part and active people to read the thousands of reports, THIS solution would allow the work to be done for the lazy gits and cut things they need to respond to probably by 90% or more ... as gil sellers/people will be muted unless tehy request it to be looked at and as gil sellers know their acc will be seen as a gill selling account none of them will even request it. Problem with reporting these people is it takes TIME and if your account lasts 3 4 5 days even its worth it. With my solution the account would probably last less than an hour if the community knows to use the report button or black list again ... and at that point they wont be able to make accs fast enough to annoy us any more.

and for rare cases of this being abused if you are muted you could still chat in :: party chat, fc chat, and to people on friends list. Also as far as abuse goes ... shouts and says etc could require 'spam' for black list adds to be used in the count ... IE if they posted two messages or three in 10 min and those messages were 80--100% the same.

easiest way to stop gill sellers is STOP FREE TRIALS TO THE SAME IP ADDRESS OR HST MASK! ONE IP PER FREE TRIAL. PROBLEM SOLVED. I AM SURE GILLSELLERS WON'T CHANGE THEIR ISP EVERY TIME THEY GET THEIR TRIAL ACCOUNTS BANNED!

They do ban RTMers, bots, and cheaters, it's just that they do it in big batches once-or-twice a month. They still have to observe if the the character in question is doing what they are accused of. Granted, stuff like advertising RTM websites is pretty easy, all they have to do is look at the reporter's chatlog. >w>

Truth bomb. People overlook the fact that SE does tend to report their monthly or bi-monthly removal of people who break the ToS. Specifically RMT. They do it in batches because its more cost efficient, its a practice called "Big Data". If you know awesome, if you don't you'll feel better reading up on it, trust me. It cuts down on SE's expenses and and man hours which will allow them to have majority of the leg work done by technology and analytics. SE most likely ban-hammers RMT bots that have no reports on them regarding their actions just because of a "Big Data" sweep.

Having the player base take control of the matter is a double edged sword...its like having nice things...we can't have parsers because of reckless people...they really shouldn't give players the ability to "mute" someone, especially if its an illegitimate claim.

And since I have seen a lot of posts like this say, "SE doesn't make anything from RMT cause they use fraudulent payment sources." So...if the RMT use a fraudulent VISA, SE will still get paid, that's in VISA disclosure of "zero liability" for both customer and business. Same with other payment sources, a lot of them have clauses or disclosures that protect both the buyer and seller and when it comes to alternative payment methods, their written litigation is usually set in stone.
