A couple of questions about changing classes

Hey guys! My Arcanist hit lvl 30 and as I want to become a summoner I changed my class to Thaumaturge. Little did I know that I have to level up again

    1. Do I have to do tons of sidequests in between class quests or is there a faster way to level?

    2. Do I have to level the thaumaturge now or is it better to finish levelling one class and then switch to the other?

    Thanks

    1. Level your THM till 15. use leves and FATEs till 15.
Maybe you have a friend on higher level to help you by this.

    2. level it now and get your job. It will give you additional skills which will help you performing in your role.

Try to finish your Hunt list for each class you level - that gives some decent XP.
If you do still have some low-level sidequests left undone, do those during early levels of a new class.
And, as mentioned, FATEs and possibly a leve-quest or two.
Try to always have some food-buff active. The +3% bonus to XP may not look like much, but it does add up over time.
Once you hit level 10 you can start doing guild-hests. The daily roulette bonus is quite nice.

When you have any other combat class at a higher level, your lower level combat classes get a 100% bonus on mob kill XP, so it'll go faster than your first one. Your hunting log, class quests, and either a few sidequests if you have them or a few FATEs, levequests, or guildhests can get you to 15 pretty quick.

The armoury bonus (which is what they call that XP bonus on lower leveled combat classes) of 100%, plus a 50% rested bonus if you generally log out from a sanctuary (city or Aetherite area), plus perhaps another 5% or 10% if your FC activates the Heat of Battle buffs, and 3% if you use food of any type, ... all these bonuses stack with each other and really add up.

I herad the new training hall courses, if completed for one role, give a ring that gives a 30% exp bonus until level 30. With stacking various exp bonuses you'll level in no time.

    Other hints for cheap exp:
Weekly log. There is few categories that give easy leveling exp. One is fates, do 10 different fates for a bonus. Also do 5 fates in different zones for bonus. For leves, do 5 leves with different leve plate. Think Guild hests had some too. While all those acts alone give some exp, the weekly log bonuses are good to pluck up every week with a bit of planning, to take them into a class you need them in most.

A word of advice from a Summoner main, put in the little bit of extra work and level your thaumaturge to 26. This nets you the swiftcast ability that is incredibly useful for all magic classes. For summoner it can be used for quickly regaining your summons, putting a shadow flare out there, or for a very quick resurrection. As you may have noted, SMN and ACN are the only dps classes to possess a rez. Swiftcast makes it a lot easier to pull off and sometimes you will earn the gratitude from a healer for helping them with this.

Flip back into your Arcanist and do all of the Hall of the Novice quests! At the end you get a great ring that boosts XP for levels under 30. (Well, I suppose I got it. I'm not sure if it's for everyone.) It helps a lot!
