Mentor System - How is it on your server?

I've actually had very little problems on the mentor chat on my server, but then most of the people in the mentor chat were people I already knew and the majority of them are good people. The real issue we had is somehow RMT bots were being invited (easy to spot, random character names in Central Than as level 7 THMs) and needed to be kicked but it was all mostly smooth, though we couldn't really identify the people who were inviting the bots so we could remove them from the channel as well.

Last night it was fine; even helped a newbie with a dungeon (and convinced them to get their job crystal).
Overall it's been pretty good, there were a few squabbles between the mentors but honestly it'll happen regardless of what rules are put in place. It didn't get so out of hand that we were unable to actually help people though.

After reading a whole bunch about how the Mentor system was getting abused on other servers, I'm glad to see at least Coeurl's weekday night shift isn't that bad. I ran through the entire novice hall and had some good conversations about what they did and did not cover regarding the game with other mentors and even a sprout chimed in.

I think the requirements for mentor should have been alot higher. There are too many people in this channel. 80% are AFK, inactive, or leave their game on all day while not playing. 100 mentors for the 10 or so sprouts at any given time.

The chatting isn't severe for the times that I play, but I imagine its worse during uptime hours on cactuar.

I foresee a Revamp of the mentor system or the channel itself.

did antitower for the first time with 3 mentors. The only one who spoke kept cursing at me because I didn't know the fights already.

It's pretty nice on Leviathan. It's very hard to get into the Novice Network though and like 20% of the other mentors are AFK... :/

I hope they add a voluntary / temporary leave function so they can allow others in. Or log out before they go AFK...

I think their should be an inactivity kick. You can't help if your not even present in the first place. The amount of people in the channel at any given time should also be lowered.

Making the requirements higher won't change anything. You'll still have a ton of people cluttering the channel.

Most people dont give a damn about helping new players, they just show off that crown icon, makes them feel better i think?

Signed up for mentor status, but have thus far been unable to even get into the channel.
