3 Star Leatherworking requires THREE other specilzations

So I just finished all of the recipe books. And I'm a Leatherworker and Weaver primarily from my crafting history (and those are my primary specializations). But this morning I noticed something which POed me to no end.

Leatherworking has three star recipes which require Eikon Cloth (WVR Spec), Eikon Iron Ingot (GSM Spec), AND High Mythrite Ingot (BSM Spec).

So any way you specialize, as a Leatherworking specialist you CAN'T freely make all your recipes at a given time. You will always have to rely on at least one other class. As far as I can tell no other specialization has this problem. This is freaking absurd! The only justifiable thing I can state is that leatherworking often has near the highest recipes. None the less you solve that BY PUTTING THE RECIPES UNDER A DIFFERENT CRAFT.

Sorry, like I said I'm fairly POed about this along with a number of other things I'm observing about the new recipes. This is just another log on why SE is doing terrible things with their specialist locked recipes.

I think the problem is that people don't want to inconvenience their friends. I know I don't want to bother people to make me 20 cloths or whatever.

This is fine... to a point, but when the masterbook as a whole is less valuable because of it, then the system has gone a bit too far. I don't mind specialisation, I do not like when specialisation makes content completely inaccessible for solo players.

The core of the problem is that crafted materials should never require specialist.

Each of my friends who crafted in 2.0 found the whole situation too daunting in 3.0. OF my friends who actually kept with crafting in 3.0 they found keeping up with it too daunting. My friend who just joined who wants to try to craft for the big money is going to take months to even catch up because apparently catch up mechanics aren't for crafting!

Yeah that's the next part of the problem is I'm ahead of the curve in comparison to most of my friendly crafters. Likewise the market isn't a choice until a few weeks later. 1 million for the one high mythrite ingot is NON functional

Agreed with the OP. My three specialists are ARM/WVR/LTW. Got wvr and almost ltw to the stats, practically broke and our of materia to push arm. No one in my FC has BTN high enough to gather the new folklore. I'm close on MIN.

I don't mind it being hard , but many do and most of my crafter friends are giving up, so I'm losing access to the other specialists.

It would have been nice to be able to craft stuff on one skyscraper to help raise Gil for the others, but do to the interdependent and high cost for the gathered mats it doesn't seem viable, right now.

Unrelated but were favor mats supposed to be in level 60 roulette? I got ARF 4 times, with no chests, of course.... Grrrr...

I have BSM/LTW/CRP Specializations. My wife has GSM/WVR/CUL. My alt has ARM/GSM/WVR. Her alt has ALC and two others.

We aren't geared for 3* yet tho. Probably get that done this weekend. Currently I am casually raising money for overmelds using our well-geared gatherers on the new MIN and BOT Folklore nodes. Crazy-big gil in that right now here.

We invested quite a bit of prep work in anticipation of what 3.2 might bring. And we are glad we did.
