Problems with "A Spectacle for the Ages"

I have trouble beating the Flame general in this quest. He does this final mega spell called Flame something, and I can't live through it or beat him before he casts it. I don't have trouble with health during the fight, it's just this final spell. Does anyone have any tips? I play with BLM with ilvl 190.

Its like the Ifrit battle, if its the attack i am thinking off, you have to kill the 'nails' to survive his Immortal Flames attack

Killing the nails did it, no problems at all. Feel stupid not thinking about it of course. Thanks, I owe you!
