I passed Thor ex on PLD at :18 sec remaining. No food or pots, first three combo in ShO, before realizing there was no point to being in that stance.
Really feel like for tank mode there should be an enmity meter coupled witg the dps check that goes along one of the DPS growth rates. (MNK since they have no self emniry drop).
Otherwise it'll just teach tanks dps is all that matters and "it worked in SSS"
I can see that working. It could also potentially allow other DPS to come with for tanks? That way it could test to see how well a tank can hold aggro while having a DPS poking the target at the same time.I passed Thor ex on PLD at :18 sec remaining. That's something I'd like to see, with the changes to tank damage I find myself doing a decent amount of trial and error to ensure I have adequate hate and mitigation up while tanking, a feature like that would be great.I passed Thor ex on PLD at :18 sec remaining. Q1: Can someone give me a basic understanding as to dummy dps? I apologize if this a stupid question but I would be greatful.
Q2: Why is BLM basic DPS higher than DRG and NIN? Am I interpreti g this correctly or no?
Q3: If my interpretation is correct then why does BLM need more DPS than melee?
I thought that melee hit harder than mages so I would think mages would need less dps since typically they deal less dmg than melee. Someone please help me understand the dps needed and such for BLM as it relates to DRG/NIN. Thanks in advance.
Did a4s on meh brd with 5 seconds left. Ending the parse around 1200ish
You just hit the dummy as hard as you can during 3 minutes. if you kill it, you passed the dps check. If not, you have work to do on your rotation
There is no mechanics at all on the dummies. So the BLM don't have to move at all, and they have more dps than DRGs if they don't have to move at all.Q2: Why is BLM basic DPS higher than DRG and NIN? Am I interpreti g this correctly or no?

Awesome and thanks for the reply. Now if only we were given shields that would last longer than what they are now and bosses would not target me while I'm standing in the edge of my remarkable circle lol. Though I know that would be to OP. However, the increase in AF/UI really helps to get this done and push the dps and ease some of the problems with leniency while using enochain.
Beat AS4 dummy as AST with a 210 weapon and armor, 200 belt and 190 (185 ring) accessories. 201 average. I had to upgrade my weapon to 210 before I could beat AS3 dummy so your weapon does make a huge difference. I'm really surprised to find that AST is not the lowest of healer requirements, but SCH is! Chart from another thread.
I'm having quite a lot of fun passing these tests. If only it was closer to Novice Hall in terms of mechanics. Gonna take up SMN next. Update: AS3 done as SMN with 197 (200 weapon and 210 armor). AS4 dummy required a weapon upgrade to 210, bringing the average up to 199. I find the dps test a bit harder than the healer test although it could just be the crappy accessories.
