It's a rough estimate because you aren't fighting a dummy like you fight a real monster. Usually no pots, no food, skills used in an order you wouldn't normally or skills you can't use on a dummy but can in a fight due to downtime, aoe fights like AS2 which do not translate at all (as2 dummy as a SMN is a joke), etc etc.

All you can say for sure is that your gear is sufficient, and that if you fail you have to work on your rotation to fit the pace of the fight
