Back after a year, feel lost.

So, I have been out of the game for nearly a year. I got Heavensward but have not been able to play since. I just renewed my subscription and was going to get back into things. When I last played I was half way through the Atma to Animus books. Should I even bother trying to complete the whole process to get a Zodiac Weapon? Trying to get a party for low level dungeons is a bit of a pain, especially since I am a DPS. I never made it past the 2nd coil either. Trying to get into a party back then was impossible. My FC has never really been helpful. I still haven't even completed the primal extreme modes, I don't think I have done any of the extreme ones yet. If anyone out there wants to actually help me, and stick with me, to get me "caught up", that would be great. I would like to find a FC that actually helps people.

Though I generally recommend to play to your own style, I will point out that most people will tell you to get to HW, then go back and replay "old" content after you've caught up. It'll help you find good people that may help you with those queue's, and you won't feel so "left behind"...though I would say it's not necessary, and might possibly leave you a bit disjointed (if you're one to go that way). If I were to give you my particular opinion, I would suggest enjoy the content as you want to, and that you can generally find people at all areas/levels of the game who are willing to help (side note: if your fc isn't helping, time to start "shopping" for a new one.) I know many cool peeps who would be willing to help you out...but sadly I'm not on your server.

I hope certain individuals would be mindful of such limitations as not being on the same server. <er-hem> ^ (oh, nice save...well, now this noticeable, bold line makes no sense...I'm keeping it!)

Anyway, as far as the Zodiac Weapon goes...eh, I don't want to entice any spoilers out of myself or other players, but if you really do want to know if it's necessary and are willing to "skip to the end", the information is readily available online. I know what the general consensus will be , but I don't want to encourage you to miss out on something that you may enjoy, or do something you really might not enjoy...up to you and your playstyle, really.

As far as queue's go, the extreme primals (at least on my server) are still being ground for loot/mounts everyday, and there is an influx of new players needing to run older content all the time. Your server may be a little different...maybe transfer to a lower populated one if it's a problem? That's one possible solution, maybe - using party finder can also be a good method, sometimes. This last patch also introduced a new incentive (albeit a slight one) for vet's to return to Final Coil...we'll see if it has a bump in popularity I guess. These days though, if you want to get into old raids...better find a good book to read, maybe do some homework, or bring some paperwork from the office to do while you curl up next to your computer, because you're in for a wait. I personally enjoy browsing/adding to the forums or starting up conversations with friends in-game...or playing a different game/watching tv shows while I wait. Yeah...

I'm just about always down to run anything and just restarted a new character recently. So, I'm trying to go through all the content I cleared before for achievements and such. I can definitely help with ex primals up to Bex. Hit me up anytime Sigurd Fatima. I'll be on later in the afternoon .

Also don't worry about the relic unless you want it. It's pretty much just for glamour as there's a new relic for Heavensward hehe.

Thanks for the positive responses. I will see what happens. I don't get to play as much as I used to, so I might have to change my play style to match. I used to try to be right up there with everyone on all the new content and literally logged in every day for hours. I had gotten my main to 50 only a few months after the game launched. I use the DF all the time, very rarely have I ever been able to get a party together of people in my FC or friends list. Most everyone is off doing their own thing, which is fine. Most of the time I am doing my own thing as well. It is just when you need to do something that requires a party it can get annoying. That is mostly because of the waiting just to do something that would take a few minutes otherwise.Actually, what caused me to take a break was the whole grinding fate's for atma's. That was a bit excessive. I wait for the following major patch after that and was able to get all of them in a week. By that time though everyone had gone on to other stuff and HW was just around the corner. So, then I hit a waiting wall trying to get into party's for the Animus books. Which is where I currently stuck still.

I will add those of you who suggested to my friends list and probably just get through the main content and then go back like suggested. My main reason for playing this because I love the story anyway. I was pretty upset about the ending before HW (don't spoil anything for me... but I am really hoping they aren't actually dead). Anyway, thanks again for the advice.
