I'm cool with collecting for the music sheet as well, it's pretty fun. But some really dead content like Crystal Tower series which requires 24 man to run is pretty harsh... I haven't work on those three yet but I seriously hope it's a 100% drop directly into player's inventory.

So it's not a jukebox in the sense that people can't just put all their CDs in it. It's more like a big docking station. You put your MP3 player in it and you're the only one who can change the song, but everyone there can still hear the song. If somebody else wants to change the song, they have to put their MP3 player in it.
I'm okay with this system. And the fun collection mini-game.

So others are not able to change a song on an MP3 player in a docking station in real life if it's not their own? O.oSo it's not a jukebox in the sense that people can't just put all their CDs in it. The main reason that I dislike orchestrion is that this game, beside the workshop, has nothing to offer for the free companies. When the FC's are going to stop being some sort of Linkshells?

It uses Ether profile matching ^^
Or the player stays on you, and it uses EIFI (Ether base "wifi") to stream the music to the Orchestrion Sound System

I'd rather keep it a personal collection tied to my character, actually. If I want to upgrade to a personal house of my own then I don't have to repurchase and re-grind for songs I had given to my FC's orchestrion or the ones I shoved into my private room's...or into the inn room.
That's four jukeboxes right there!
Plus, haven't we heard enough horror stories about FC leaders going nuts, kicking everyone, and taking the company chest with them? I'd be furious if I spent time grinding for the rarer scrolls only for them to be effectively stolen.

The music collection is bounded to the character. The orchestrion only allow you to play your collection.
I find it so better than farming the same musics 2-8 times for all the different orchestrions (1 in each Inn, 1 in the FC house, 1 in your FC room, 1 in your private house and soon also 1 in your apartment room). i want my collection to be where I am, instead of fragmented over whole eorzea.
I think it is based on Linkpearl technology

Since the music is shared with those in the same room, it needs to be done this way. What would the point be of having the music only change on your client end, and not the others in the room? You can do that with a CD/MP3 player already. A truly personal jukebox makes little sense at all. But a shared one makes sense, and keeping the music collections personal also makes sense, because it means you don't need to obtain sevreal copies of each piece of music to hear it on multiple Orchestrons. I think people are complaining to complain.
The way it is now, the music collection belongs to the player, but they can share it with others via the Orchestron. I think that is both logical, and quite workable.
As for the way that the sound diminishes as you move further away, I am sure that is something that can be adjusted in future without any real changes to anything.

Just did a set of towers last night. A couple findings; the drop is not 100%, you will need to roll against your own party (of 8), it may drop multiple copies in one go (or usually none). Couple with the fact that the queue take over an hour to popped and that you need 3 faded copies from each tower, I humbly request on either one of the following:
1. Increase drop rate to 100%, roll against party (of 8). Drop from 1~4 copies per run.
2. Set the drop rate to ~50%, drop directly into inventory. Drop 1 copy per run.
3. Put one of the two single faded music sheet from each tower to a vendor.
Yes, I understand that most players are rushing the new content so there wouldn't be enough people queuing for the towers, and SE set this up so that players will run the towers more often to help the new comers to clear the story mode. However, I will also like to point out that at the current state, there are many complains regarding how the Orchestrion work, so the group of players working on music sheet farming isn't that huge as well. Also, the towers are 24 man content, trying to assemble a group to farm the content together is much tougher than farming other content as well. (The fact that Orchestrion doesn't save any sound track locally doesn't help either). Hell, I even had a friend gave up farming on the tower set the moment I mentioned we need 3 faded copies from each tower.
TL;DR, put the carrot too far away and people wouldn't bother to reach for it. It's the same issues as the 101 primal ponies in 2.X pre-buff.
