where is everyone?

I feel like no one talks here. I have said hello to countless people as i pass by and not one has stopped to say hello.

No I am not asking to join your linkshell, or asking you to be apart of mine. all I ask is that everyone stop for a moment and say hello.

I have been thinking that for a while actually. Met a few people here and there on forums a few months ago but they were on different servers or quit the game. I am usually a lurker on these forums, and haven't posted in a while (cuz I normally write too much), but I just wanted to say Hello to you.

It's been just me, my fiance, and my best friend playing together since launch. We took a break for a while, and then restarted all of our characters, and have been playing since the last patch. None of us have ever been in more then a 3 person party more then a few times. 4 at the most. Just beat Totorak for the first time last night with us 3. I still feel so new to the game somehow. I always loved learning things from other players... now it seems I am biding my time until YG.com and the other sites update so I can learn more.
The only reason anyone ever speaks to us is when they want or need help with something, and then they are gone and we never hear from them again. This wouldn't be so bad but they never say hi or make conversation while they are with us either. Its made 100% clear they are with us only for the help provided. I know this has been said before... but I really miss FFXI the way it was a few years ago. :< Back when they released the dancer class and I made a video going around the world dancing and seeing how many random strangers i could get to dance with me. Very few of them could ignore me dancing around them. :3 Whether or not you were interacting with people for party, missions, because you HAD to or simply because you wanted to... it was still a really nice experience for me most of the time.
FFXIV feels really lonely... and I am afraid to talk to people most of the time because they assume i want something and act rude or ignore me to get me to go away before they realize I am just saying hello.

Hopefully things will pick up in the future. I know there are great people out there that like to have fun. :3 Don't worry about the ones that don't have time to be kind. The nice ones will appear someday. <.< Though I would flip out if one person on my server waved to me or said something to me besides "Team up? Help me out!" If someone waves I will wave, ect. I am really shy but that doesn't mean I will ignore people lol. I might sh*t a brick out of shock and pounce on them if they are capable of conversation and fun times though. Be warned. nyah.

I'd stop to talk if not running/flying/chocoboing my way to do something. /wave Maybe it's just the server you're on but Figaro has what seems to me a great community but I guess that depends on your POV.

I'm like Noctura and will do random things just for fun like drive by waving and buffs or cures and even a raise or 2. Even if I don't get a ty or /bow from that person, idc because I know I made the effort to be friendly. Plus I'm lucky my LS is filled with a ton of just fun chill folks who prefer to have fun rather than try to be L33t.

Edit: The only time I really feel bad is if I'm crafting and I just can't type fast enough to reply.

Yes. You are very lucky lol. I am not sure if a LS exists like that on my server. I have gotten a total of 3 tells in game since I started playing a year ago. No one has emoted or waved to me at all.
I like to buff and cure random people. Then they ask me to pl them. -.- Even when I do they don't talk to me. <.< So I swore off pling. T_T It's not fun following and curing a robot.
The 3 of us aren't into being leet or perfect either. Groups like that seem rare though. I have tried rerolling to different servers quite a few times with the same experience. I most likely wouldn't consider changing servers again until I can take my character with me, as I have gotten attached to it. I will remember your server though.

I can't EVER reply while crafting. We are usually on vent so we won't have to type. For some reason it seems to delete everything you type during crafting. >.< It's really hard to reply.

Yeah we use TS (Team Speak3) for our LS and we all just donated more funds to our LS leaders to upgrade the slots because on the weekends, it's nuts in game LOL. It really is a fun time and I totally understand not wanting to reroll again. I was fortunate enough to find my LS when it was just the 3 leaders and after I got in and started helping to recruit, we have exploded to 63!

If you all ever want to come over you will be MORE than welcome to join and STILL make your own LS for private time. We really just love having fun and the friends we have in the LS are all ages and types from married to single parents like myself. We do try to let everyone know who joins we're based EDT/EST but we have people in ALL time zones. Hopefully a nice precursor to the 2.0 patch will be a combining of servers and or one transfer but I remember Yoshi stating transfers would be a future event.

You need to join a LS. Google linkshell and your server and I am sure you will find a website where you can apply to.
There are many LS's out there for casual players, if that is what you are looking for.

I did the same thing I said and have been in the same LS since started playing. We schedule events together, talk about the game, rl, whatever comes up.

Some people prefer solitude, but you need a group of people for a lot of things in this game, so LS is the way to go.
