Heavens forbid an mmo make you play with other peopleI will stick with it because I got through a lot of this game by myself and without a free company. I just do not like it when mmo's force group content onto you. WoW doesn't do it and neither does EvE or most fantasy based mmo's. I just do not think it should be embedded in requirements for the main story is all.
In my opinion, Group Content should never be a barrier to enjoying the overall story of an MMO. Such group content and waiting around breaks up momentum and kinda makes people lose interest, especially if they have to spend 30 minutes in a group finder to get to the next part.
you are Lucky if it is only 30mn waiting time. As a healer, I tried to do Ramex, I waited 6+h in order to get a queue, I went to bed (EURO zone time queued) woke up 6+h later I was STILL Queuing. In my opinion, Group Content should never be a barrier to enjoying the overall story of an MMO. So yes I agree with OP in this. There is a content that forces you to play with people, no problem there, BUT when none of those people are interested in playing that old content, including your FC members and friends, then what ? you are left with waiting and waiting and waiting.
They finally removed with this patch the mandatory steps that forced you to have finished almost all primals to move to the next one but it remains, not because it needs people that people will run those stuff espcialyl if they are well passed these.
Recently, I wanted a mailbox for the house that myself and my Partner share, for that I needed the King Mog's moustace, whiskers, I queued several times I only managed to enter it 1 with my Partner. apart that, no luck whatsoever. Finally my Partner managed to get it for me (bless him) with his friends. It should not be this way.
Material is also locked behind those primals and the like, and people that needs those materials for crafting or whatever or whatever cant get it because nobody is runing those anymore
It would be good if a change happened, waiting half a day for just 1 attempt and maybe not even finishing it because people leave, is just discouraging.

never do extremes with DF. Extremes (especially if you want it properly done and not unsync) are not pug material. Best bet is to find linkshells/ FCs that do it. Mine used to invest the time to down primals the proper way, but it got too time consuming for people after a few months of that, so now we unsync for each other.you are Lucky if it is only 30mn waiting time. except that the ex trials are not required for the MSQ and are only part of the mentor roulette (since yesterday).you are Lucky if it is only 30mn waiting time. The hard trials, which are required, are also part of the trial roulette, that everyone use to earn tomes for relic.

Sounds like you are playing the wrong type of game. I think what you are looking for is called a Single Player Game.In my opinion, Group Content should never be a barrier to enjoying the overall story of an MMO. Such group content and waiting around breaks up momentum and kinda makes people lose interest, especially if they have to spend 30 minutes in a group finder to get to the next part.
I'll second the motion that main story quests should only ever be solo content. In my opinion, Group Content should never be a barrier to enjoying the overall story of an MMO. Certainly a valid opinion, but clearly not one the developers agree with considering how much of the main story is gated by group content.
The fact that soon after we finish the prologue and leave our starting cities we are hit with not one, but three group dungeons in quick succession should be a strong hint.
