Main Story Quest Help Please - The Gifted

Good Morning,

I was wondering about some advice on passing this quest in the main storyline alone, or even if this is possible to do so as not being a mage. I am a Bard, but it shouldn't really matter. As a bard is it even possible to do this alone, or will I need help to do so?

Every time I try to get passed the 4 mages part, I can kill 1 of the 4 before the other 3 blow me apart. I have tried burning them down, tried getting them around a corner together to AOE them, I have tried continuously moving, and it is always the same thing over and over again. I kill 1, and the other 3 blow me apart. This is easily the most frustrating thing I have ever seen in this game, and I hope that someone can help me because I am pretty pissed. Thanks in advance.

What kind of gear do you have? Perhaps you're just using old/weak gear. None of the MSQ battles should be very demanding.

Although if I recall, that quest has you just fight mages when you approach those purple circles right? If it's not instanced, you could just bring a friend with you (healer probably) or use your Chocobo

Gear seems to be okay i guess. Was hoping that there was a trick or a strategy to burning a few down to take care of the rest with some breathing room. But it might be a bring a friend moment. Thanks for the words Ashelia.

This is the last encounter when following the white-robed ascian?
If I recall it isn't an instance, so bringing a friend or your chocobo may help.
Otherwise I'd recommend getting a better bow and maybe other gear. You have what is now baseline level 50 gear. With poetics tomes you can get the 120 gear and the market board should have lots of 115 gear available.

Yeah I did that as a bard and it was rather frustrating. Use your chocobo and since you're not actually in an instance, bring someone else along if you can. If not, try to burn the mages down first and save the healers for last.
