    To have automatic fluid animation system like "Assassins Creed" or "Stranglehold" would look great, awesome animations, done on the fly to get your character from one place no another. Sadly this require a lot of processing power, the new game engine might not even support real-time animation prediction systems like Euphoria. So to keep up with the genre, jumping is something that will improve the game-play of the game. Example jump across rivers of lava or something like that, jump up on an object to get out of an aoe that is on the floor, Who knows what they have in store that would increase fluid game-play, and make the world not feel like walking with lead boots on.

    No matter if you like it or not, being stuck to the ground drives many players away, the majority of mmo players are used to a jumping system, and when there is no jumping system, they feel trapped to the ground and unable to control the game the way they want.

    I'm sorry if you don't want to see players hopping around having a good time enjoying their play experience, but that isn't any of your business its theirs.

    So please stop fighting progression, you are only fighting something that will improve your game in the long run, and give you more interesting fights.
