Thank you Syz I can't like that post enough I too as a drk main am seeing myself overcome these new adjustments and it never occured to me until you said it about mitigation and worrying about threat when we never had to. Such a well designed post.

The boost was only in tank stance.... im not having any threat issues at all. The point is they dont want you in a dps stance, they want you tanking in tank stance. Which is also why they adjusted dps checks in the new stuff to be less.

You need to adjust your gameplay and stop trying to adapt your old ways to get it back. Its not going to happen. This was a design change.

Bosses have blatantly smaller HP pools.)
    Well said man.

Excellent post, thank you for all of it. One thing I wanted to say was that in my post preceding yours I mentioned melding DET or CRT. I was definitely not suggesting that we should some how sacrifice VIT (or STR for that matter) for these secondaries. More that we can at least take the opportunity with the advanced melds to add those secondaries where we can't add any more primary stats.

But at this point I'm just not far enough into the gear to really worry about that, I'll be happy to get as much VIT as I can for now.

But I will definitely be watching the discussions.

I still wouldn't be surprised if a future patch tips it further towards VIT. Given all the talk they had about where they want things to end up and talking about easing the transition....

Nice write up Syz; especially that line about adaptation. I just wish SE would drop Parry from accessories( which they didn't ffs) and I'd be on the "bring on the Vit" bandwagon too.

I switched to str tanking when i110 was a thing; I main warrior and it was never about the dps for me; it was about the crit. Warrior is a Crit tank, I won't discuss it, I already know this to be true. Yet each time I try to min/max my stats around my critical hit chance, SE rolls out their new tier and I get smacked with at least two fending accessories with parry, which so far in this xpac has been Garbo for all except a little dps boost OGCD on drk. Just sad really

Well I'm sure there will be plenty of Fending accessories without Parry, and even the ones without Crit you can just stuff em full of savage aim Vs. Doesn't wind up being that big of a loss.

Crit is the best secondary in the game really, almost any job is a crit job. That being said, being a DRK I'm probably not going to go out of my way to minimize parry during progression. There's a lot of AAs and they're all physical and as hard as things are hitting you can really feel the benefit of the Reprisal debuff. But any piece I do get with Parry is definitely still getting the Crit-5 treatment.
