I had to move my clock upstairs because the ticking kept interrupting the track.
I'd like a 'silence' option for furniture with accompanying sounds.

I wouldn't mind if the music got louder or softer based on distance, but when you wear headphones the directional audio really is a bit too exaggerated. I hope it gets toned down because I really like collecting rolls and listening to the songs, but the current setup just hurts to listen to if the camera isn't totally centered on where the orchestrion is.
While the realism of a source point player was a nice idea, I find it annoying to listen to the tracks played from the Orchestrion. I would love to see an option to have it play through the whole house/room as if you had a surround sound system set up, instead of a single speaker radio.

I have to agree with all points in this thread.
The directional audio gives me an actual headache, not a metaphorical one, but an actual full blown head pounding headache that I need to take a tylenol for, when I'm sitting in my FC's house crafting for 60% of the time I'm in game.
I also do not like the fact that the audio doesn't sound high quality when played through the jukebox.
I'm finding this very irritating too. Some of the tracks are also so quiet that if you turn in the wrong direction you can't hear them at all.

Agreed, please remove the directional.

Turned on the orchestrion for the first time, and immediately turned if off again. As a headphone user, it is extremely annoying to have what SHOULD be background music moving from one ear to another. Sure, radios are like that in real life, but not as dramatically. In reality, the ear closer to the radio is picking up a volume maybe 5% louder? In FFXIV, with headphones, the closer ear is ten times the volume of the further ear.
Does ANYONE at Square Enix understand how to do simple tasks? I bet when they boil water, they have a step that involves adding ice cubes.
Do you go totally deaf in one ear when you turn that ear away from your radio in real life? I apologize if this is an actual medical condition someone on the sound design team has.

A great addition to the game but I feel it could be improved.
Firstly the volume, some tracks are far too quiet. The prelude track especially I can barely hear. The second issue I have is with 5.1 sound and the direction the music is coming from.
When I turn the camera the music will come from different speakers. I understand why it does this but its extremely distracting and sounds terrible. That isn't how sound works. If I play a stereo in my room and I face away from it, it does not sound drastically different.
I feel it would have been better if the BGM of the house was simply replaced with the orchestrion track rather than it coming from the object itself. I want to enjoy my favourite tracks in their original quality.

Agreed. The low volume is really disappointing as is the poor quality of the sound in general.
It would be nice to have the option of having music from the Orchestrion at the same volume and quality as the bgm.

I think they should have just made the Orchestrion song chosen to play become the BGM for the house. DO IT SE! I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH WORK IT IS D:<
