I don't want to come off as SPEAK AMERICAN/ don't mess with Texas here. But the standard in their business world is facility with the English language and they just haven't done it because they don't think they have to. No other excuse.

This is one department where Square Enix should have taken it upon themselves in 2000 to ELIMINATE this barrier by 2010. They say their main goal is globalization, but they seem to make no real efforts toward setting up success in that department. They're still the same isolated JP company they were when Ted Woolsey wrote whatever the hell he wanted. They just have better contractors who will go to intricate lengths to translate japanese into Pirate.

But when it comes to interacting and understanding what the DOMINANT videogaming world wants...they have nothing. After 20 years of dwindling JP influence and rising NA and European influence...no progress to keep up. No indication of flexibility and change.

I really do think this is the plight of the JP videogaming industry right now. It's a main cause for DQ9, FF13, and FF14's poor reception. And it is a huge cause for this game's faceplant on launch. We sent them 20,000 suggestions. That's our way of saying WHAT IS THIS???
