Reduce cost of Soul of the Crafter

It seems that the widely detested "Specialist" restrictions are not going away soon. SE wants to limit access to crafting jobs (unlike battle jobs).

If SE are too arrogant to admit they made a mistake, perhaps they can at least reduce the cost to change specialist jobs. Right now it takes 480 red crafter's scrips to purchase a Soul of the Crafter. That should be reduced to 100.

Actually, make that 90. That would allow purchase of 5 souls, plus the three you have equipped at the start of the week, to be able to access all 8 "Specialist" jobs each week. You would need to plan your crafting appropriately but I suspect most crafters plan their important crafting sessions anyway.

    Agreed on 450.
The fact that everything red scrip related revolves around multiples of 50 scrips, the weekly cap is a multiple of 50, and then the crafter souls cost 480 is dumb. You either have to not cap at some point to even it out, buy 5 crafter souls, or be forever left with some extra unusable scrips dangling out there.

Not trolling at all. Your post, however.

Eventually, the value of red scrips will be very low as the mats you can get become moot with the introduction of other gear. Might as well make them useful by lowering the cost of Souls. And yes, 90 would be perfect. Specialization otherwise is complete bullshit.

Indeed! The next step now should clear out all Soul Stones from the fighting part of the game and make us choose only 3 jobs, those being the only ones allowed to queue in raids and trials in game as well as being the only ones allowed to wear the gear obtained there. Will be so much fun! -_-

If anything, the arrogance would be in calling it a mistake when every one of these threads ends up with as many people who like the system as this vocal minority of people disliking it.

It's clearly a mistake designed by those who really know nothing about crafting.

Not sure how you say "as many people" like as dislike and then say in the same sentence say that those who dislike are in the minority.

To borrow a metaphor from John Oliver, Specialization is the back mole of FFXIV crafting. At first you ignored it but it is getting larger and starting to be a concern.

And how many MMORPG crafting systems have you designed and implemented, Mr. Expert?

All the armchair game design experts in the forums are a joke.

    I'm sorry but...
    I was omnicrafter in 2.X
I was at the beginning of 3.0
I was stunned by specialist system

but now I really enjoy it !
It bring people together, I mean I made a network of people I know and who love crafting
we help each other, trade comp help and answer question... that's really fun !

It follow what yoshida said about communication and playing with other people (not in a bad way XD)

    ...

The ONLY annoying point right now is the awful amount of time you have to spend to gather enough comp to make a 2* craft
and I said annoying, not bad or need to be fixed...
    It's doable just long

and I think we will later have to said comp in dungeon
in a way as easier as collecting lv50 2* to 3* comp in ilevel 70 to 100 dungeon
