Eventually they are going to give each class multiple jobs, so I dont see why they dont make a start now by making THM and CON both have access to either BLM and WHM.

if they gave CON and THM both black and white. then you would lose identity of both. a job should be individual and have its own identity. with is idea of given black and whith to both. there would just as much of an argument for axing one of them just get rid of THM cuz there is no need for it if CON does the exact same job. or get rid of CON for the same reason
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

What class unlocks them has no bearing whatsoever on the identity of the job.if they gave CON and THM both black and white. then you would lose identity of both. a job should be individual and have its own identity. with is idea of given black and whith to both. there would just as much of an argument for axing one of them just get rid of THM cuz there is no need for it if CON does the exact same job. or get rid of CON for the same reason

i think a job is tied to a class identity, dragoon. could only be one class the one that carry's a spear, monk could only be one class the lightly armoured fist thrower. when you think of a job the class should be easy to work out. that is kinda the question of this thread. yoshi said after 1.20 we would be able to work out what caster would get what job. suggesting that the class identity would remain with the job

In the case that Dreamer is correct without any room for a gray area, this would still be one of the accidental gimmes. The word dragoon implies NOTHING about actual dragons, a dragoon is a soldier capable of fighting as both cavalry and as infantry. You just can't accomplish that with any weapon, so one with reach makes most sense. Strangely enough, early dragoons were known for using firearms, so a gun wielding dragontamer wouldn't be totally out of the question, though it would be about as well-received as a bow-wielding bard (BADUM-TISH).i think a job is tied to a class identity, dragoon. could only be one class the one that carry's a spear, monk could only be one class the lightly armoured fist thrower. when you think of a job the class should be easy to work out. that is kinda the question of this thread. yoshi said after 1.20 we would be able to work out what caster would get what job. suggesting that the class identity would remain with the job

My take on it
Twelve = New Gods (Islam/Christianity) - Lots of people believe cos they are newer and more well known at present and have better PR people lol.
Primals = Old Gods (Pagan(not going to pick a specific)/Hinduism) - Still known but has a smaller following.
More Brutal and simplistic representing more natural, elemental and primal(fear/love ext) things.
Bugger is I want to worship the Old Gods, but they could easily be that the Twelve are just re branded and twisted old gods though (i doubt this doesn't really fit but a thought anyway).
Lost of options atm I think.

Maybe the twelve are really primals and we just don't know it yet. Or maybe elder primals like Odin.My take on it

/shudder. That might explain why the Archons seem to be playing both sides of the field (if, like me, you buy into the idea that the Paragons and Archons are the same entities). That'd make for a pretty sick story, though - finding out that the whole basis of your belief in God is the disguised worship of Wyrmking Bahamut - and then you have fight him because Final Fantasy is all about defying religion. (Seriously. Just pick up a Final Fantasy and play until you see your first vaguely religious figure. That's the bad guy. AND DON'T CALL ME OUT WITH XII, WHICH ONLY DEFIES THE FF FORUMLA BY DIRECTLY MIRRORING STAR WARS.)
Anecdotal bullsh!t on that topic, a friend and I purchased XIII on the same date and played through the first few chapters simultaneously while joking around. I made a lot of off-handed comment that it followed the Final Fantasy Formula a little too rigidly and how I "couldn't wait to see the first religious guy." Needless to say, as soon as we saw Barthandalus, my first reaction was, "Holy sh!t, it's the f**king Pope! Never mind the bad guy, he's gotta be going for the freakin' apocalypse!" Aaaand then... *SPOILER ALERT* TA-DAAAAAA.
