I think it is Aymeric idealistic attitude. It has its merits, and its infectious, but it is also getting him into trouble. Our character wants to believe in that, but this time it isn't without struggle. We've been burned more than a few times on our own trusting nature, and its starting to show.

I'll say it... I'm hoping there is a way to save Minfilia, perhaps with Maota's Eye. I really enjoyed this patch, I felt it told a very good story, had some very cool fight. (The Bull of Ala Mhigo must have been terrifying with two arms), it was fun to see Pipin again. A bit disappointed the other city state leaders had no lines.

OK, had time at work to collect my thoughts.

On "The Word of the Mother"

So, Hydaelyn called Minfilia back into Y'shtola's Flow for the sole purpose of pulling her to the Aetherial Sea and having her sacrifice herself? This seems... shady. Anyone who still thinks Hydaelyn's not treating us like tools (or chess pieces) had best wake up. Minfilia was in no danger - what was the purpose of having her get swept up in Flow and keeping her in the Aetherial Sea? Getting a mouthpiece? Hydaelyn never had trouble speaking to us before... and once our Blessing was restored, has not had trouble since. Something's not right...

Her story, while all we have to go on, is also very lacking detail. "Zodiark got power hungry, so I banished him" is... way, way too simplistic to be the whole truth. "Keep fighting and foiling the Ascians"... our mission is not changed. Yet, I cannot ignore our Echo flashback into the Warriors of Darkness' memories, with them being told that killing the Ascians will not change fate.

Damn it... as always, we need more information. But... if Minfilia really is gone, then... I take great issue with that, doubly so given the shady circumstances of her "sacrifice," and while I don't want to doubt the Mothercrystal or turn my blade on her...

Estinien-Nidhogg

Even more apparent that he's a specter / shade / ghost / etc. now than ever. Any normal dragon cannot switch between a human and dragon form - they're just dragons. Estinien-Nidhogg, however, can switch between forms at will, and the Quest Log continues to refer to him primarily as a shade.

Pry the eyes off him... or just destroy them. We can save Estinien... we have to.

Sephirot
-Yes, most / all of his attacks are named from Kabbalah. Including his super, Ain Soph Aur (it's not spelled that way in-game but I forget exactly how it is spelled and I'm too tired to fight the bastard right now. Ein Sof Oohr? I think?). The name "Sephirot" itself is taken from Kabbalah, so it's hardly surprising.

So, can we expect Zurvan (the Demon) and Sophia (the Goddess) to have lots of Zoroastrian / Greek named attacks, respectively?

And I still have Wind-up Nero. At least until he gets too annoying with banging that Mjolnir of his around and I shove him in a dresser drawer like damn Furby. Getting that little toy was worth keeping MGP... it's a nice way to lift spirits, just a little, because Gods know the Warrior of Light could use a hug.

Alexander tomorrow, maybe.

Did anybody else notice that Thancred's markings on his neck were glowing in multiple cutscenes near the end?

Also who the heck was the mask-guy in the post-story cutscene?

In regards to the mysterious white robed figure...I think he's playing us like fools if he is aligned with Elidibus. At the end of 3.1 Elidibus states something about the Garleans 'playing their part'. I suspect that they were deliberately lured to Azyz Lla - given that they knew what Thordan was planning - so they would either release and/or destroy the Triad. Thus I firmly believe that the Garlean's expansion and aggression is manufactured by Ascian design. I also believe that we are doing the wrong thing by releasing and defeating Sephirot. I suspect that all the energy dispersed isn't going back to Hydaelyn. Perhaps it'll even be infused into Regula somehow?

I'll be saddened if the Emperor ends up dying just to have another war of succession so that Ala Mhigo can be 'liberated'. If we actually ally with Garlemald itself, however, or at least the more moderate aspects of it and kill a considerable amount of aggressive Ala Mhigans I will be happy.

I genuinely, 100% do not see how Unukalhai cannot be associated with Elidibus. It's in his name. SE isn't even trying to hide it. It's more of an issue if he's actually Elidibus, or just one of Elidibus' servants. If it's the latter, we might be in for some really interesting developments regarding sympathetic Ascians. If it's the former, yay, more Second Best Ascian.

Forgive me for going all squealy fangirl on you, but I need to post this (and I'm doing a 180 on my serious topic above and I apologize, but I need to get it out sooner rather than later so I don't derail another thread about it):

Unukalhai is adorable.

You can tell he's just completely and utterly baffled by the way you trust him, even when we have absolutely no reason to. You've even been directly warned against it. Yet the WoL (rather foolishly) ignores those warnings, even as Krile probes into his intentions. He's just all awkward and doesn't know how to respond to your trust despite your suspicions.

I genuinely don't think it could be cuter. Maybe if he was a minion that followed me around. . .

Completely unrelated but...Calcabrina didn't seem to 'die' after being defeated. We simply dispersed them - which makes me suspect and hope that they'll show up again in a future dungeon. They did that with the Kraken boss, after all.

Yap also the last boss of Amdapor City (the angel statue) could also make a comeback. It didn't shutter or disappear just went into "sleep" again.

I also started confusing about Hydaelyn. The way she forced Minfilia to an unnecessary sacrifice it just didn't let a good taste in my mouth. I'm a bit upset and angry with mother crystal. She could have speak to us at any time but she didn't. Instead she decided to make Minfilia an empty vessel for her likes for "reasons". The whole cutscene felt really wrong in away. Something wasn't right. I'm starting questioning about her motives and goals. 3.2 had a really good story which created many feelings and doubts. In the end it left me with a bitter taste.
