Edit: Finally finished Alex tonight after work.

Yeah, so, that's creepy. The ability to control time? To calculate the future and move through space-time? That's potentially a much larger issue than Alex sucking up aether.

Also, the literal mind rape.

This isn't going to end well for anyone (except us, really. Actually, thinking of it that way, we're a bit absurd. People's lives are being ruined by Alexander and we're enjoying being rewarded with shiny new equipment. Yeah.).

Fun battles, though.

I honestly thought I was reading too much into it until Thancred said what he did. Probably sarcasm, but I don't think Celie here would mind if there was some truth to it.

Not related to the MSQ directly, but speaking of romantic development, there's a certain pairing among the group of NPCs in the Rising Stones that have had something developing the last couple patches, and reached a rather comedic moment. Poor Clemence.

Back on topic...

The Word of the Mother situation...I think regardless of whether we can fully trust her when it comes to Minfilia, or some other things, it seems her actions are born out of desperation.

And now we know the stakes as well...if Zodiark wins this time and causes another Rejoining, then that's it.

Of course, even a generally benevolent goddess could become dangerous when pushed to the brink.

As a side note, I think her "playing favorites" like with Krile was not simply a case of her choosing to save one, but that she could only save one with how weakened she had become.

Yes I'm mentioning CT again, because the stories are very similar, but it's kind of amazing how many times in this patch Mide said things that were (indirectly) backhanded comments on how CT story went down. Where G'raha was "I've realized I want to be with you, but I can't because this is my destiny and the goal of my ancestors, so even though I only just found out about it, I have to give up everything to do this," Mide seems to have experienced that same arc and come to the opposite conclusions: "Alexander was my ancestors' dream, not mine. I realized too late I cared more about the journey with my companions. We have to consider the means used to achieve the end we seek." Etc. Like she's read my posts on CT and agreed it was trash (or just hacked the follow-up script I wrote myself off my hard drive, which Emannelain might as well have been reading off of over in MSQ-land.)

Yoshida has frequently brought up (fairly specifically) that Void Ark is not a continuation of the CT saga when asked about raid continuity, and we've technically carried over three characters from there, so what if...?

And with this post, I'm also saying that Mide has redeemed herself in my eyes. She and Roundrox need to have shiny hunting adventures together.
