The Novice network automatically fills mentor spaces up to a 100. Every time a space opens up it adds a new mentor.

I think it is perfectly fine this way. We don't need an excessive amount of mentors teaching a small amount of sprouts. We need mentors to be there when sprouts ask their questions. That might mean it can take a while before you get your chance at actively teaching, and that is fine.

I can understand the excitement of becoming a mentor and wanting to teach, but being a mentor is not about teaching no matter what. It is about teaching someone that needs help, when they need help.

You say sprouts, but isn't the mentor roulette including trials like Thordan EX? I thought it isn't limited to new players, but open to all people willing to learn something.

The roulette is entirely separate from the Novice network. The roulette puts you into content with players needing help, the Novice network is a chat channel for Mentors and Sprouts to talk to each other in.

I was hoping there would be some way to interact with the mentors but if that's the only way that is kinda sad. I just hope that mentors who get randomly put in the harder content will give advice on mechanics, shortfallings and what not and not treat it as bonus rewards and leave after a single wipe.

The mentors still get the crown above their head so the "no-longer-sprouts" can look for these in the open-world and probably even in the search window - not sure about this as I am still stuck at work for the next 30 minutes >_>
