All those items are items that were previously specialist-only.

Now the new items will be specialist only, most likely. Interesting trend, I must say. But it should halt some of the whining if they do it that way.

I'm not sure why you think that. I did not see any indication of that in the Patch Notes of any other SE communication. Did I miss something ?

I still think there's going to be a catch here so let's wait and see before we get too excited.

Possible - Specialist may be needed to use the item Masterbook IV (not too bad) or stat boost from soul stone is so high that you will pretty much need it to make the new things (annoying).

Let's not rejoice yet. My guess is they're just shifting to specialists having stat bonuses. If that's the case, it may very well be extremely difficult for non-specialists to craft the new items, but still doable. That's... not an entirely bad concept.

I suppose it's too early to really celebrate, since they could just be shuffling the old recipes off of the Specialist-only flag, and putting the new ones on it, but it's equally likely that they've decided to do away with that awful, awful system for good and replace it with the Craftsmanship/Control bonuses to the specialist souls.

Still, even if they hadn't, the biggest potential danger to the game's economy Specialist-only recipes posed was that aging recipes would start getting more expensive as time went by, due to there not being enough Specialists on smaller servers to properly serve that market. So even if they haven't quite learned, they've at least figured out how to mitigate the effect.

please explain how removing specialist tag makes omnicrafter harder. please explain how adding a bonus to specialist stone makes crafting in that particular class harder
