Retainers

I have a few questions about retainers.

First, Ive been crafting quite a bit, but I'm worried about running out of storage space. I get the impression that you can have more than 2 retainers, but I'm not sure how to unlock them. Is it level based or ?

Second, which classes are the most useful? I was thinking botanist and fisher for cooking mats, which would leave collecting the rest up to me. How useful are those classes for gathering usable ingredients?

Lastly, I'm a bit confused about the purpose of the adventuring retainer classes. What do these retainers do?

You can have 2 retainer for free free it's the basic service
Any additionnal must be pay on mog station

I personnally find botanist and miner useful for most comp
And DoW/DoM for any leather or not gatherable comp

Fisher is the least useful
I mean once you got à stack you can wait a looong time before spending him again

Thanks for the quick response. The only thing I see available on the mog station are cosmetics and mounts. Am I looking in the right place?

And I had forgotten about leather. It makes sense that adventurers would be useful for that.

You are not looking at quite the right place. Once on the Mog station look under "Your Account" -> "Retainer Services"

The battle class retainers can bring in all those ingredients (apart from rare boss drops) that you can get with killing things. They are absolutely golden because while you can go gather a pile of, say, lumber in no time, just go in gathering and you are quaranteed to get it, getting a decent amount of things like horns, night milk, leather requires you to go kill stuff and even then getting the ingredient is far from quaranteed drop. With retainer you can just tell them to go "get those antelope horns pls thx".

The items on their lists include leathers, fleeces, sinews, bloods, meats, eggs and milks, to name a few.

The fee for extra retainers is a per month charge added to your subscription fee, so you have to keep paying for them in order to keep your access to them. In the US, it's $2 per month for each additional retainer beyond your two free ones. (I'm not sure of the equivalents if you use a different currency.) I think the maximum is 8 retainers.

This seems pretty reasonable. If I'm worried about space with most of my crafters between 15-25, I can only imagine what it will be in 20 levels. Thanks for the information!
