Incoming RAGE: I can not begin to express how much I have enjoyed this game since I started playing it.WHM was my first lvl 60 so I wanted her to look super nice. I spent an excessive amount of time farming gill and the kingly whisker to make my HQ mog weapon for my white mage only to find out, after I had someone craft it for me, that it is a FREAKING ONE HANDED WAND!?!?!? What in the HELL am I supposed to do with this wand?! Please, for the love of all things lala, take the weapon away from me and gimme my gill back or make the damned thing able to be made into a cane. Like, I seriously am on the verge of stopping playing. I didn't know it was a WAND. Every other class can use a mog weapon glamour at 60 why the heck can't we? I need a GM or something to respond to this and let me know if there is any way someting positive can be salvaged from this freaking catastrophe.

I'm pretty sure I read something in the patch notes about how they're changing the old primal weapons that were one handed to two handed with 3.2. Hopefully the same would happen with the crafted versions?

1. your own fault for spending so much time and effort without actually looking even once what kind of weapon it is, not SE's fault.
2. read the patch notes, that should calm your rage; although I'm not 100% sure the crafted Mog weaon is affected too, but I assume so. I know the dropped version is, at least.
3. if you are too lazy to read, the anwer is basically: there will be a 2-handed version for 1-handed WHM/BLM weapons from now on, and appearently the one-handed one can be traded in for a two-handed one too, to allow for glamouring.

All the primal weapons up through Leviathan have one-handed versions either for WHM or BLM. WHM got one handed weapons for Garuda, Mog, and Leviathan. BLM got one handed weapons for Titan, Ifrit, and Turn 5 of Coil. This was a carryover from 1.0 and they wanted to switch between 2 handed weapons and 1 handed + shields/bucklers. People didn't like this because they couldn't use them as glamours though, once glamours were introduced, so they stopped.

If you'd read the patch notes, they did mention that two-handed versions of the one-handed primal weapons are being introduced and added in Patch 3.2 and that you can trade the one-handed versions for two-handed versions. Now, I DO NOT KNOW if this includes the crafted versions, but I assume if they do not add that now, they will later.

Also, since you can't actually wield it, you can always sell it on the MB.

As a new player there is a lot I don't know. I saw someone with a mog weapon and instantly wanted one. They told me what I'd need to make one and I set out to get one. I never actually saw the weapon this person had a black Mage version of it. How the hell was I supposed to know it was one handed? In regards to the primals being able to be traded for two handers, the mog weapons don't glow from like the crafted ones do, do they?

Next time, go to a Marketboard, and "Try it on" or look it up in google, there are usually always images of those items.

And, how to know stuff like this: simply do your research... the weapon SAYS that its one handed... you could have tried it on before buying/crafting it... and actually, even as a "new" player you should have noticed by now that different jobs get different weapons - even model-wise...

Also, no point in this rant, because again, do your research, they gonna change that

(oh and in regards of getting something back: an alchemist can desynth the weapon - I dont recommend it, because you'll most likely gte some gold ignots back or so... oh and I'm pretty sure that you should be able to turn it in for GC-seals, again, not recommended... but, I'm sorry, this is compeltly your fault for rushing things like this)
