But not inaccurate. It does still hold a little bit true today. Tells can be effective...if the person you are recruiting is receptive to it. I'd rejected about 20 tells because they can get annoying to sprouts if they are constantly receiving those and blind invites. But tells aren't too bad, as I've found, both from my prior character and from doing recruiting myself in the past, that players tend to be more receptive if they feel you have an interest in having them in your FC. That's how my current FC lead recruited me - she actually showed interest, even though I was in the middle of logging off.

    Dear Suirenn,

My way starts from creating a Linkshell for Sprout, New beginner.
Start help people one by one and invite them to Linkshell.
Next, you have to make believe that you can take care and ask players to join.
Take care doesn't mean babysit. Just give advice and help them run dungeon and befriend.

I believe everything should start with talking, help and, care.
So, I think method is good because you can learn each other.
Also, you can make good relationship
And, you will have right person for your FC.
The most important thing is to make people enjoy Eorzea's life.
Please don't be angry if they don't join you.

Sometimes, I ask players to join my FC for getting FC buff.
This way, players can learn environment of FC.
If they feel comfortable, they will stay.
If they feel unease or comfortable, just let them go.
Give them choice for his/her happiness

    Good luck!
