If you don't like exploring, you don't have to do it but i always loved it. Nobody needs those maps completed. It's just adventourus, and you're supposed to be an adventurer, right?

I think my problem with changes like these (including various other "nerfs" to "old" content) is that they seem to target no one, for seemingly no reason. Who actually wanted these changes, ever?
If you're already past these parts of the game then you already have these things done and it doesn't affect you at all, like most of us here.
If you're new to the areas and haven't mapped them yet, then why would you need that part to be any easier or faster than it already is? This content is still new to new players, obviously.
Who does this benefit!
It's streamlining. Because the content is becoming old and outdated, they have to streamline it so new players can get to the endgame content faster. Supposedly. Personally, I don't see why we have to speed up the journey when to me at least, a lot of the fun came from the journey itself, but apparently a lot of new players just went to reach endgame as quickly as possible.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
That would imply that the old content sucks compared to new one, which isn't true. I am a new player (only been playing for 2 months), and I can tell you that ARR story and just the scenerey and a whole new world were so exciting that I actually wanted to explore. The best example is East Shroud. I never thought Sylphlands were so big. I was really surprised when I got to go there. A level 20 me could have never imagined it East Shroud expanding to that point. Sigh, I really don't like this. It takes away so many good things for a simple convenience...It's streamlining. Cutting down grinding I can understand. (It is far easier to get good gear at level 50 now than when the game launched for example)It's streamlining. But making maps "auto-explored" doesn't really speed up anything - except for those people who really want the exploration achivements but don't want to do any actual exploration.
It removes some of the fun in exploration while adding a tiny bit of convenience - a convenience that nobody asked for.
It would be nice to get some clarification on how this will be implemented.
I hadn't considered the Aether currents, it would be a shame if everyone just gets them automatically rather than being encouraged to explore and find them. I had so much fun doing that.
I'd love to know the reasoning behind this decision too, seems strange to bring in such a big change when apparently, nobody asked for it.
Actually there was one bit of that corridor that had a bit of back tracking to do if you wanted to explore a bit more. Wasn't much just a few more fights and spheres. But yeah... snozefest...Emphasis on the almost
Wanting to see what the next cutscene was trekking down XIII's long hallways with maybe one treasure sphere thing here and there was exciting.
Will the next corridor have a curve? will it curve to the left? will it maybe curve left and then right?! Holy shit.
(super serious)I don't know what to put here so I've put this here as a placeholder until I figure it out.(super serious)
Recruitment code if you are starting out: FTB8JBQ5
This change has completely put off the fun from starting a new character for me. Really don't get that. Especially these low level maps have been unlocked almost automatically, just by doing some quests or traveling to different zones. In my opinion, auto unlocking of dungeon maps would make much more sense, because there are hardly random groups that are willing to visit optional rooms that are not required to complete an ini. But the world maps???
I'm wondering what will be busted next? Auto-level up to 50 or unlocking 5 jobs instantly?
I'm very disappointed. Probably going to quit now.
