I read, in another interview, that SE plans to use a customize version of the Luminous Engine for the PC.

Yoshi specifically stated they were using neither the crystal tools or the luminous engine, but instead creating a new graphics engine from scratch specifically made to suit FFXIV. What you prolly read was that they were asking the team creating the luminous engine some help to create this one.
