With the introduction of Retainer Jobs, I feel like they made a slight oversight. While it's nice to have the option to pick Machinist/Dark knight/Astrologian, why is it that Conjurerer can't also choose SCH?

When it comes to gear picking Arcanist over Conjurerer just wasn't possible because Arcanist took from the DD role of gear and not support. Because of this as someone who was leveling SCH as a healer class Conjurerer was the better fit to give off the hand me down gear to. Now that we can pick a job though it is a bit dissapointing that while you have offered the option of players being able use their 3.0 jobs on their retainers, would it be possible that maybe you could add the option to also allow Conjurerer to pick SCH because Arcanist is the only class with two job options which drastically change the gear they can use.

I don't believe any retainer can pick an ARR job that originally wasn't possible. For example, a ACN can become SMN or SCH, a CNJ become WHM or ROG become NIN. All can become a 3.x job because when Heavensward was released all you needed to become a DRK, AST or MCH was a lvl50 job in any DoW/DoM.

It would break the lore if a THM suddenly became a WAR or MNK because it never trained to be one, it trained to be a THM who advanced into a BLM.

I understand what your saying, you level and play as SCH, but cant pass the old healing gear to your ACN retainer so you have to make them CNJ
now with the jobs you want to make them SCH, but that requires a complete relevel via ACN which
on one hand yes ofc makes sense
on the other is a bit of a shafting moment for those who had to make their retainer CNJ to wear their old gear.

Sadly i doubt they will issue a pass for this specific scenario but it is a shame on this oversight of what the old system restricted
