    Help with PS3 Controller Customization

    Hello to the readers,
    I have been playing FF XIV Realm Reborn for a couple of weaks now.
    I am playing on the PS3 version and using the controller now when I press L1 it auto runs so I disabled it and I want to use to rotate back the Cross Bar. So R1 will move to the next Cross Bar and L1 will go back.

    I couldn't find an option for that anywhere both ingame or a sulotion on th web but came out empty

    Thank you
    Yours WobZone (:

    I suggest getting used to the hold R1 (any button), you can effortlessly switch between all hotbars without scrolling

    I use Auto run very often as I play with a PS3 controller (to prevent joysticks being worn out so fast) o:
    Its also helpfull when on a mount! You can fly to a location and do something else meanwhile.

    Auto run stops if you do an Atk-Skill (it also stops if you press again L1)

    Im playing 2years now. Im pretty used to it with hold R1 to change skill bars o;

    Cant remember if you can do this or not but see if you can assign L1 to macro #98 or #99. You can do it with L3 & R3.

    Then you need to wait for 3.2 to come for the new commands, /hotbar next & prev

    Or you could just use 2 hotbars for combat (you should be able to fit all the skills on) and enable extended hotbars. Removing the need to change.

    I dont knoow what you mean by Macro 99. I dont know how to set it up.
    If you could shed some light on the matter.

    I know I can fit all my attacks on two bars but I like to have another one for chocobo.
    And as far as to getting used to the switch I can do that but I fugured if there an easier way then why not.

    For the auto run I havn't had a situation where I need it.

    Not on right now but I will get some screenshots for you. What do you want on your non combat hotbar? As another set up is to have 1 shared hotbar with chocobo, inventory etc. Then 2 non shared for your jobs, this is then managed by whether or not your weapon is sheathed or drawn. Also, if you have HW expansion, Auto run may be useful to you, since it works for mounts running or flying, and you'll be doing alot of flying

    So this is what I was talking about, You go Start > System Configuration > down to Gamepad Settings > Button Configuration. This lets you change what each button does, however you can only allow L3 and R3 to Execute a macro, so this is not an option for you.

    What you can do instead is go Start > Character Configuration > down to Hotbar Settings > Cross > and enable Expanded Hold Controls. This allows you to access hotbar 2 while still on hotbar 1 by holding L2 & R2 together, depending on which you hold first will determine the side you go to.

    Just below that you can see Enable auto hotbar switching when drawing/sheathing weapon. this can be useful if you control sheathing yourself. Like I said before, go back to the Sharing tab and set cross hotbar 8 to shared, this can then be your out of combat hotbar for all classes, while 1 and 2 remain unshared and class specific.

    If you dont like having the hotbars managed by sheathing your weapon, another option is to disable that and keep the hotbars set up like I said. That way you'll just have to press R1 to get to the shared.

    Or you could even just set your mount to R3 by using a macro.

    So for now what I did is use Two Hotbars when weapon is sheathed and they r for combat.
    Also made R2+L2 be right side of 3rd hotbar which is Mount, Summon, Withdraw and Follow (《《on arrow keys) also all the other companion stances on the other 4 keys.

    For my L2+R2 I set it to show left side of Hotbar 8 which has Crafting log, Journal, Duty finder and Macro keys (《《 all on arrow keys) and on the other 4 keys I have Emotes, Signs, Teleport and Return.

    If u have any suggestions to the way I set it up tell me.
    I only started playing the game for a couple of weeks now and I did get the Heavensward.

    I wouldn't use the r2+L2 hotbars on mounts and such. That could be your easy access third hotbar for battle.

    Instead, put your companion abilities on some other bar (I chose 7) and make it so that r1 cycles only through hotbars 1 and 7 when your weapon is put away. Makes it tougher to command your companion during a battle (since you'd no longer cycle to the companion hotbar) but all you'd have to do is hold r1 and press the corresponding hotbar button to access the companion anyhow. (so it'd be r1+ dpad Down if you chose 7.)

    Oh boy that sounds overly complicated.

    I would have your most common skills / ones with short cooldowns on hotbar 1. Then have your long cooldown skills on hotbar 2.

    With the extended hotbars, set them like this;
    L2 -> R2 = Cross hotbar 2 - Left
    R2 -> L2 = Cross hotbar 2 - Right

    Set cross hotbar 8 to shared. and put your misc actions in there. The Default setup is quite a good one to follow. Like emotes, signs, waymarks etc. but I mostly use the main menu to access everything else such as DF, party, macro's. I dont think you really need all of the companion stances on there and they usually follow you anyway.
