Well if this character is from another FF games then could possible be not a coinsidence. We know how koji loves to use old FF refenreces on the XIV.

You mean Yoshi, and sure it could be, considering he loves FF3 for all of the wrong reasons. I have this sinking feeling that there's more to it, though, like this is an outfit they put her in so that the changes that come over her patch by patch stand out, or something.

'Wrong reasons'? Could you elaborate? I don't believe I ever played FF3 - that's the one that was never released in Europe, right? Though I know FF6 is sometimes referred to as FF3 in some regions...so if you mean FF6 I'm familiar with it.
Probably means the actual FF3, which was fine as a game; not sure what they're talkin about with "Yoshi...loves it for all the wrong reasons." Aside from Crystal Tower being based on it there's almost no content drawn from it, and he's certainly not the only one that throws out ideas as to what could be used.
I mean FF3 as in the one that came out in Japan in 1990 on the Famicom. Rather than repeat myself on stuff people don't like to hear, I'll just leave it at "a lot of people read Dante's Inferno without considering its place in the larger work called The Divine Comedy."
And since I got swooped, I mean thematically speaking, not literally copied characters, settings, and plot points.

The Divine Comedy, Inferno Included, is a hard piece of literature to digest. I read it all the way through and swore never to do so again with out a revised addition. (Ie, I had the rare "Privilege" of reading a copy in the original text format. <Shudders> size 4 font)I mean FF3 as in the one that came out in Japan in 1990 on the Famicom. All those blondes in white dresses look the same to me.
Aria was a nice character with a cute hairstyle.
These...things Minfilia is sporting now are luckily very different.
Aria's not busty enough.
Really, it was seeing how easily Xande was demoted to a death-fearing straw nihilist and Doga and Unei were reduced to one-off "life is short, but sacrifice is eternal" mouthpieces that got me questioning how much I thought I knew about FF3. But leaving out the dangers of the Flood of Light, or how Desch's sacrificial destiny was actually changed, or even how Xande didn't go darkside until he was sentenced to death at his master's funeral (to make him see the beauty of finite life) is really selling it short. Whatever your views on light and life, you shouldn't try to force people to share in your beliefs, is I think the larger message that got misrepresented.
Anyway, before people accuse me of getting off the rails, Aria has pretty much two claims to fame: one being her theme song, the other being an... event that has already been called back to multiple times, but seems to be a particular favorite of the director, so I wouldn't put it past him to do it again. Again.
