    Axemanship...what does it do?

    I'm making a post on behalf of my brother who plays the game, Considering I don't have the actual skills to compare.

    When my brother equips any of the _____manships skills like Axemanship that raise your "Affinity" with class skills he finds that his icon timers get all messed up, all of his skills will start saying they are ready to use when they are still on cooldown.

    Does anyone else have this issue with the affinity skills? Have the devs mentioned anything about the issue, I am curious as to why this would possibly happen.

    The only thing I've noticed it slightly increases damage/longer effect and reduces cooldown timers.

    Example;

    You're are now Lancer, you equip Skull Sunder, without the Axemanship, you hit Skull Sunder, around 150 DMG, then you now equip Axemanship, you hit with Skull Sunder , getting around 190-210 DMG

    *DMG deal are just example.

    Generally equipping a _____manship trait will result in better effect (higher damage for ws, higher healing for heals), and longer duration for buffs (bowmanship for quick stride, swordmanship for sentinel...etc) on skills of its corresponding class, never really compared the difference in CD to see if it's reduced or not.

    Do keep in mind that, this only works when you are using skills from another class, being a Marauder and equipping axemanship does not result in higher damage or duration of any Marauder skills as far as I can see.

    See the issue is that my brother would equip the pugalist skill when playing his lancer.

    His second wind now has a shorter recast timer, but actually doesn't cool off any faster than normal. Whats the normal cool down? Let's say it was 60 seconds, when he uses it his timer will instead say 45 and when it ticks down the icon will highlight as if he could use it again. Try as he may he still can't use it until the normal cooldown is up despite his action bar showing second wind available to use for well over 10 seconds.

    That probably has nothing to with the _manship traits actually. Its an issue that I believe is due to memory leakage (so I've heard) and happens to a lot of people. Whenever I first start XIV my timers are fine but over hours of playtime they become less and less accurate. Buffs/debuffs will also have incorrect timers and its just a whole bunch of mess. I hope 2.0's new servers fix this issue entirely.

    You should have your brother manually time the recast with a stopwatch. Although I don't think the manship traits necessarily have to alter recast, they can also alter potency or both. I know for Provoke with swordsmanship the recast is knocked down several seconds and the potency of the action is increased aswell.

    After being logged in the game for extended periods of time all your timers will 'glitch' out and be off by several seconds. It's very annoying. Restarting the client (shutting it all the way down not just logging out) will fix your timers.

    Interesting I'll see what that does for him, IIRC we have tried to restart before but I'll double check before going to the tech forums.
