    oh yeah itd sure be interesting to implement such a thing no doubt, would be interesting to try a strict 6 card limit 1-of-each kinda deal.


    on a slightly related note,
    1.im glad theyve renamed shuffle to redraw, make more sense to me. like sure, you put a card back and redraw another you can argue youve shuffled the deck to redraw but; well ive said it twice now, you redraw a card so...

    but mostly
    2. they can now in my dreams add a new ability, called Shuffle
    which swaps the card youve drawn with the one on your spread
    because thats shuffling them about

    also would be 12000% useful to do this sometimes.

    Personally, I would have liked to have seen the re-named ability go something like this:

    Each of the 6 cards has an opposite

    Bole - Spear
    Ewer - Spire
    Arrow - Balance

    The skill would take the card you drew and instantly give you it's opposite. Sure, there would still be RNG with the initial draw, but this would allow a little bit of freedom to control what you get the second time around.

    For example, you draw an Arrow card. However, you really want that Balance so you use the ability and it gives you Balance.

    Or, you draw a Spear. You know a tank buster is coming up, so you use the ability to switch it for a Bole.

    Or, you draw a Spire. However, no one needs TP but you're hurting for MP, so you use the ability to get yourself that Ewer.

    Am I the only one who sometimes uses a group wide Bole if I know damage is coming and it just happens to be the what the cards are aligning?

    I see these changes more for Nocturnal sect than Diurnal, it's the only time I've had MP issues.

    Well yeah, you're probably right.

    From today's patch notes reading according to that guy on reddit (take that with a grain of salt, I wasn't watching myself so that's second hand info):
    we are aware that the fairy means that Nocturnal Sect Astrologian has a dramatically lower output than Scholar...Nnnn, we thought about fixing it, but we figured there's no end to trying to balance the healing outputs so if players avoid Astrologian for this cycle of content as well we might think about adjusting the cards
    He's of course not wrong and I appreciate the honesty but that's disappointing nonetheless when the dev team basically admits they have absolutely no idea how to balance something.

    I wonder whatever happened to the old days of at least trying something to bridge huge gaps rather than letting them stick around, even if it is as dirty as a potency increase or, I don't know, split Aspected Helios 1 : 2 or even full shield instead of 1 : 1 like it is now? We have access to Helios anyway for healing.

    Also, not going to complain about getting them, but the general buffs just seem so out of place aside from the enmity thing. I can see the Ewer/Spire buffs being QoL somewhat and possibly opening up things, though.

    I think they have given up on healing parity and from their comments during the stream they want to give AST its own niche with Card buffs (which is good and should have been a day one priority!). But if they just improve the cards then they have to be very careful about AST vs WHM balance.

    They designed themselves in a corner with their initial AST concept and subsequent 3.07 buffs but that's no secret. I don't think it's going to be well-balanced before 4.0 either.

    From a brief (and quick) test, it looks like Ewer is 50 potency for MP refresh. It's a 20 potency buff compared to the old ewer. It gives around 2210 (442 per tic) MP compared to the old 1325 (265 per tic). Spire is now 40/tic (up from 30).

    Wow that's really dissapointing and weird for him to say that about the job and Nocturnal Sect. I'm not even bothered about Nocturnal Sect but that attitude is....yeah..
