It's probably the same reason they didn't leave it as "Tayoreru Mentor", because just randomly leaving one word in Japanese (or rather a Romanized transliteration of Japanese) when writing in English looks stupid. And actually the English "mentor" fits the role better than the Japanese "先輩" (senpai) does anyway. "Senpai" just indicates someone who's been around longer, whereas the English "mentor" more specifically indicates someone who's using that greater experience to help teach others, which is the whole point of the feature.

I'm more curious why they changed it from "Rely on a Mentor" or "Depend on a Mentor" as the Japanese version said (頼れる先輩) to "I Hope Mentor Will Notice Me".
