    Someone Help Me, Please!

5 days ago FFXIV was working perfectly, like how SE intended from the start, no crashes, freezes, or slow 3D asset loads.

4 days ago I formatted my PC local HDD and reinstalled Win7(x64)Pro. Updated drivers, chipset, and video(GPU). I reinstalled FFXIV, and now it plays like it did in beta. Nothing loads right, slow with occasional crashes. Takes 5minutes to log in after character selection, and 3D maps do not load completely resulting "empty space".

Need help. Q&A me if you must to better understand.

I personally think this has a lot to do with it. The list of things that can go wrong when reformatting a computer is extremely long. Did you previously 32-bit before upgrading to 64-bit? Was the previous operating system 7 or XP (or something else).

If you went from 32-bit to 64-bit the most likely cause is because 64-bit uses substantially more resources to do things. The main speed advantage is that 64-bit can utilize over 4GB of RAM, however, you actually need that much more RAM to run equivalently. I'm not 100% on these numbers but I believe you need at least 6-8GB of RAM on a 64 to run as fast as you would with 4GB on 32-bit. 64-bit can use anywhere from 8GB to 192GB though, so the room for growth is large.

Quick question: Did you optimize your settings? Or checked that they are the same as before you re-installed Windows?

Kaizlu, lol I'm sorry but I'm not even sure where to look for that.

PC(Laptop) Native Win7(x64)Pro - Before and after reinstall via factory restore disc.

Hmm, well you have enough RAM and all that. If it worked fine before it shouldn't be any different now. What prompted the reformat in the first place?

Have you tried any other programs that worked fine before the reformat? Do they have similar issues?

Sorry for not being specific. I'm talking about the game settings. Like Texture Quality, Drawing Quality, etc..
It's really a basic thing to do, but you might (or not) have forgotten to check them out.

Other games work fine as well as app's I've had before. Overall the PC runs fine, my only issue is with FFXIV, and it's odd that it's having the same issues I only had from beta up until the JAN(?) patch.

My reason for formatting was to clean HDD of unwanted programs and data. I used a factory restore disc so everything should have been fine.

If there is a way to optimize the CPU or GPU, or anything else of similarity, I would appreciate a guide, link or assistance to do this.

This might warrant having to deal with Technical Support.
Have you tried updating the drivers from the manufacture's website?

    is a Laptop right?

try this, run it with dedicated GPU, then run it on fullscreen.

I don't know how to dictate the GPU to do that.
